말씀으로 거듭난 사람
1 Peter 1:17–25
베드로전서 1:17-25
As we live our lives, we all ask ourselves whether we are truly living rightly.
우리는 모두 살아가면서 지금 내가 제대로 살고 있는지 스스로에게 묻게 됩니다.
We live diligently, yet there are times when our hearts feel empty, and even when we achieve something, the satisfaction does not last long.
열심히 살아가고 있지만 마음은 공허할 때가 있고, 무언가를 이루었지만 만족이 오래 가지 않을 때가 있습니다.
The Bible clearly tells us that a life lived without God is ultimately futile.
성경은 하나님 없이 사는 삶이 결국 헛되다고 분명히 말합니다.
Therefore, the Lord said that unless one is born again, one cannot see the kingdom of God.
그래서 주님은 거듭나지 아니하면 하나님의 나라를 볼 수 없다고 말씀하셨습니다.
A person born again through the Word does not judge the world only by what is visible.
말씀으로 거듭난 사람은 세상을 눈에 보이는 것만으로 판단하지 않습니다.
They see by faith that God is still reigning even now and live under His rule.
지금도 하나님이 다스리고 계신다는 사실을 믿음으로 보고, 그 통치 아래 살아가는 사람입니다.
Today’s passage clearly shows us what kind of person the one born again truly is.
오늘 말씀은 우리에게 그 거듭난 사람이 어떤 사람인지 분명하게 보여 줍니다.
1. A Person Redeemed from Empty Ways by the Precious Blood of Christ (17–20)
그리스도의 보배로운 피로 헛된 행실에서 속량받은 사람입니다.
A person born again through the Word, as Jesus said, is one who sees the kingdom of God and enters into it.
말씀으로 거듭난 사람은 예수님께서 말씀하신 것처럼 하나님의 나라를 보고, 하나님의 나라에 들어가는 사람입니다.
In other words, a born-again person does not judge the world and life only by what is visible.
다시 말하면 거듭난 사람은 세상과 인생을 눈에 보이는 것만으로 판단하지 않습니다.
They live by faith, seeing that God is still reigning even now.
지금도 하나님께서 다스리고 계신다는 사실을 믿음으로 보며 살아갑니다.
Peter speaks of the starting point of this life in this way: “Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially…” (1 Peter 1:17a).
베드로는 바로 이런 삶의 출발점을 이렇게 말합니다. “외모로 보시지 아니하고 각 사람의 행위대로 심판하시는 이를 너희가 아버지라 부른즉” (벧전 1:17 전반)
We are people who call God our Father.
우리는 하나님을 아버지라 부르는 사람들입니다.
And this Father, God, is watching over our lives.
그런데 우리의 아버지가 되신 하나님은 우리의 삶을 보고 계십니다.
So Peter continues, “Live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear” (1 Peter 1:17b).
그래서 베드로는 “너희가 나그네로 있을 때를 두려움으로 지내라” (벧전 1:17 후반)고 말합니다.
This fear is not terror of punishment, but a heart that does not take our relationship with God lightly.
이 두려움은 벌을 무서워하는 공포가 아니라 하나님과의 관계를 가볍게 여기지 않으려는 마음입니다.
It is a heart that remembers who we belong to and under whose rule we live.
우리가 어디에 속한 사람인지, 어떤 통치 아래 살아가는 사람인지, 잊지 않으려는 마음입니다.
Then what kind of people were we before?
그렇다면 우리는 그 전에는 어떤 사람이었습니까?
Peter says that we were those who have been redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to us from our ancestors (1 Peter 1:18a).
베드로는 우리가 조상으로부터 물려받은 헛된 행실에서 벗어난 존재라고 말합니다 (벧전 1:18 상반).
This “empty way of life” is not merely about bad behavior. It is a life lived without God, a life outside of His rule.
여기서 “헛된 행실”은 단순히 나쁜 행동이 아닙니다. 하나님 없이 살아가는 삶입니다. 하나님의 다스림을 떠난 삶입니다.
It is a life where we become the standard, the world becomes the standard, and what is seen becomes everything.
내가 기준이 되고 세상이 기준이 되고 눈에 보이는 것이 전부가 되는 삶입니다
We know this life all too well.
우리는 그 삶을 너무 잘 압니다.
We live diligently, striving to achieve something and to be recognized by others.
열심히 살아갑니다. 무언가를 이루려고 애씁니다. 사람들에게 인정받으려고 노력합니다
Yet at some point, deep within our hearts, these thoughts arise:
그런데도 어느 순간 마음 깊은 곳에서 이런 생각이 올라옵니다.
Why do I feel so empty? Why am I not satisfied? Why does joy not last?
왜 이렇게 공허한가? 왜 이렇게 채워지지 않는가? 왜 이렇게 기쁨이 오래 가지 않는가?
So we often find ourselves living like this.
그래서 우리는 종종 이렇게 살아갑니다
We repeat what we do not want to repeat.
원하지 않는데 반복합니다.
Just as the Israelites, even after being delivered from Egypt, kept longing for Egypt in the wilderness and wanted to return, we too, even after experiencing grace, keep clinging to the familiar old life.
이스라엘 백성이 애굽에서 건짐을 받았는데도 광야에서 계속 애굽을 그리워하며 다시 돌아가고 싶어 했던 것처럼, 우리는 이미 은혜를 경험했으면서도 익숙한 옛 삶을 자꾸 붙들려 합니다.
We return to what we want to escape.
벗어나고 싶은데 다시 돌아갑니다.
Just as the prodigal son left his father to seek freedom but eventually fell into deeper poverty, we too, while seeking freedom, end up returning to the very place that binds us.
탕자가 아버지를 떠나 자유를 찾아 나섰지만 결국 더 깊은 궁핍에 빠졌던 것처럼, 우리도 자유를 구한다고 하면서 결국 우리를 얽매는 자리로 다시 돌아가게 됩니다.
We try to fill ourselves, yet we become even emptier.
채우려 하는데 더 공허해집니다.
Just as the prodigal son came to his senses only after spending everything and eating the food of pigs, we discover that the more we try to fill ourselves, the emptier we become.
탕자가 모든 것을 다 써 버리고 돼지 먹이를 먹고서야 깨달았던 것처럼, 우리는 채우려고 할수록 더 비어 버린 자신을 발견합니다.
This is what empty ways of life are.
이것이 헛된 행실입니다.
Outwardly, it seems as though we are choosing, but in reality, it is a life being pulled along by something else.
겉으로는 우리가 선택하는 것처럼 보이지만 실제로는 무언가에 끌려가는 삶입니다.
And this is not merely an individual problem.
그리고 이것은 단순한 개인의 문제가 아닙니다.
That is why Peter says it was “handed down from your ancestors” (1 Peter 1:18b).
그래서 베드로는 “조상이 물려준” (벧전 1:18 중반)이라고 말합니다.
In other words, the way of living without God had already sunk deeply into us.
그러니까 이미 하나님 없이 사는 방식이 우리 안에 깊이 들어와 있었던 것입니다.
So we were people who could not return to God by ourselves.
그래서 우리는 스스로 하나님께 돌아갈 수 없는 존재였습니다.
But God did not leave us as we were.
그러나 하나님은 우리를 그대로 두지 않으셨습니다.
“You were redeemed… not with perishable things such as silver or gold” (1 Peter 1:18b).
“대속함을 받은 것은 은이나 금 같이 없어질 것으로 된 것이 아니요” (벧전 1:18 하반)
We did not escape from the empty way of life we lived without God by our own effort.
우리는 하나님 없이 살아가던 헛된 행실에서 우리 자신의 노력으로 벗어난 것이 아닙니다.
We did not come out of it by our own resolve.
우리의 결심으로 빠져나온 것도 아닙니다.
It was not solved because our circumstances changed.
환경이 바뀌어서 해결된 것도 아닙니다.
Only by the precious blood of Christ were we redeemed and delivered from that very place (1 Peter 1:18–19).
오직 그리스도의 보배로운 피로 대속함을 받아 그 자리에서 건짐을 받은 것입니다 (벧전 1:18–19).
This passage tells us clearly.
이 말씀은 우리에게 분명히 말합니다.
The blood of Christ brought us out of an empty life, restored our relationship with God, and brought us into His rule.
그리스도의 피는 우리를 헛된 삶에서 끌어내어 하나님과의 관계를 회복시키고 하나님의 다스림 안으로 들어가게 하신 것입니다.
So those who are born again through the Word no longer live by looking only at what is visible.
그래서 말씀으로 거듭난 우리는 이제 더 이상 눈에 보이는 것만 보고 사는 사람이 아닙니다.
They are people who have come to see that God is still reigning even now.
하나님이 지금도 다스리고 계신다는 사실을 보게 된 사람입니다.
This salvation is not accidental.
이 구원은 우연이 아닙니다.
According to verse 20, God had already purposed from before the creation of the world not to leave us in an empty life but to save us, and in due time He sent Christ for us.
20절 말씀에 의하면, 하나님은 창세 전부터 우리를 헛된 삶 가운데 두지 않으시고 구원하시려는 뜻을 품으셨으며, 때가 되어 우리를 위하여 그리스도를 보내셨습니다.
From the very beginning, God intended to restore us into His rule.
처음부터 하나님은 우리를 자신의 다스림 안으로 회복시키려 하셨습니다.
So today this Word speaks to us in this way.
그래서 오늘 이 말씀은 우리에게 이렇게 들려옵니다.
“You are no longer a person who belongs to an empty life.”
“너는 더 이상 헛된 삶에 속한 사람이 아니다”
“You are now a person under My rule.”
“너는 이제 내 다스림 아래 있는 사람이다”
“I have called you back into My kingdom.”
“나는 너를 다시 나의 나라로 불러들였다”
Having been redeemed by the precious blood of Christ, we are those who have been delivered from an empty life without God and have now been brought under His rule (1 Peter 1:17–20).
그리스도의 보배로운 피로 속량 받은 우리는 하나님 없이 살아가던 헛된 삶에서 건짐 받아 이제 하나님의 통치 아래로 옮겨진 사람입니다. (벧전 1:17–20)
2. A Person Who Sets Their Faith and Hope in God (21)
믿음과 소망을 하나님께 두고 사는 사람입니다.
Those who are born again through the Word have been delivered from an empty life and brought under God’s rule.
말씀으로 거듭난 우리는 헛된 삶에서 건짐 받아 하나님의 통치 아래로 옮겨진 사람입니다.
Then what does it look like to live under that rule?
그렇다면 그 통치 아래 살아간다는 것은 구체적으로 어떤 모습입니까?
Peter says that we are those who believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and glorified Him through Christ (1 Peter 1:21a).
베드로는 우리가 그리스도로 말미암아 죽은 자 가운데서 그를 살리시고 영광을 주신 하나님을 믿는 자라고 말합니다 (벧전 1:21 상반).
In other words, a person born again through the Word lives believing in the God who raises the dead, who brings new beginnings where things seem finished, and who restores what has been broken.
곧 말씀으로 거듭난 사람은 죽은 자를 살리시는 하나님, 끝난 것 같은 자리에서도 다시 시작하게 하시는 하나님, 무너진 것을 다시 세우시는 하나님을 믿고 살아가는 사람입니다.
So it continues, saying,
그래서 이어서 이렇게 말합니다.
“Your faith and hope are in God” (1 Peter 1:21b).
“너희 믿음과 소망이 하나님께 있게 하셨느니라” (벧전 1:21 하반)
To live under God’s rule is not merely to change outward behavior, but for the place of our faith and hope to be changed.
하나님의 통치 아래 살아간다는 것은 겉모습이 바뀌는 것이 아니라 믿음과 소망의 자리가 바뀌는 것입니다.
So before this Word, we are led to examine where our faith and hope truly rest.
그래서 우리는 이 말씀 앞에서 지금 우리의 믿음과 소망이 과연 어디에 머물러 있는지를 돌아보게 됩니다.
We often still place our hope in other things.
우리는 여전히 소망을 다른 데 두고 살 때가 많습니다.
Jesus told a story about a rich man.
예수님께서 한 부자의 이야기를 들려주셨습니다.
A man had a great harvest from his land.
한 사람이 농사를 지었는데 큰 풍년이 들었습니다.
There was so much grain that he had no place to store it.
곡식이 너무 많아서 창고에 다 넣을 수 없었습니다.
So he built bigger barns and stored everything there.
그래서 더 큰 창고를 짓고 그 안에 모든 것을 쌓아 두었습니다.
Then he said that now he had enough, had no more worries, and could live at ease.
그리고 그는 이제는 충분하니 더 이상 걱정할 것이 없고 편안하게 살면 된다고 말합니다.
He thought his life was completely secure.
그는 자기 삶이 완전히 안정되었다고 생각했습니다.
But God said to him, “You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared?” (Luke 12:20).
그런데 하나님은 그에게 “어리석은 자여 오늘 밤에 네 영혼을 도로 찾으리니 그러면 네 준비한 것이 누구의 것이 되겠느냐”라고 말씀하십니다 (눅 12:20).
This man was not a failure.
이 사람은 실패한 사람이 아닙니다.
By worldly standards, he was a successful man.
세상 기준으로는 성공한 사람입니다.
Then why is he called a fool?
그런데 왜 어리석다고 하십니까?
That is because he placed his hope not in God, but in wealth.
그는 하나님이 아니라 재물에 소망을 두었기 때문입니다.
We are not so different from him.
우리도 이 모습과 다르지 않습니다.
We think that if we accumulate just a little more, we will be fine, if we become just a little more secure, our hearts will be at ease, and if we prepare just a little more, our anxiety will disappear.
조금만 더 쌓으면 괜찮아질 것 같고, 조금만 더 안정되면 마음이 편해질 것 같고, 조금만 더 준비하면 불안이 사라질 것 같다고 생각합니다.
So we keep holding on to wealth, people, and circumstances.
그래서 우리는 계속 재물과 사람과 상황을 붙잡습니다.
But the more we cling to them, the less our hearts find true rest.
그런데 붙잡을수록 마음은 완전히 안정되지 않습니다.
Saul, the first king of Israel, was a man chosen by God.
이스라엘의 첫 번째 왕 사울은 하나님께 선택받은 사람이었습니다.
Yet in the crisis of war, fearing that the people would leave him, he could not wait for the word of God and acted according to his own judgment.
그런데 전쟁의 위기 속에서 백성들이 떠날까 두려워 하나님의 말씀을 기다리지 못하고 자기 판단대로 행동합니다.
In the end, Saul confesses, “I have sinned… I was afraid of the men and so I gave in to them” (1 Samuel 15:24).
결국 사울은 “내가 범죄하였나이다… 내가 백성을 두려워하여 그들의 말을 청종하였음이니이다”라고 고백합니다 (삼상 15:24).
Saul was not a man who did not know God.
사울은 하나님을 몰랐던 사람이 아닙니다.
But he cared more about people than about God.
그러나 하나님보다 사람을 더 의식했습니다.
So his life gradually began to fall apart.
그래서 그의 삶은 점점 무너져 갔습니다.
The same is true of us.
우리도 그렇습니다.
A single word from someone can shake our hearts, and one person’s evaluation can make us rise or fall in joy and discouragement.
사람의 말 한마디에 마음이 흔들리고 사람의 평가 하나에 기쁨과 낙심이 갈립니다.
That is because our hope is in people.
그 이유는 소망이 사람에게 있기 때문입니다.
When Jesus came walking on the sea in the middle of the night, Peter stepped out of the boat and walked on the water, relying only on the Lord’s word (Matthew 14:28–29).
예수님께서 밤중에 바다 위로 걸어오시자, 베드로는 주님의 말씀만 의지하여 배에서 내려 물 위를 걸어갑니다 (마 14:28–29).
At first, he walked with his eyes fixed on the Lord.
처음에는 주님을 바라보며 걸어갑니다.
But the moment he saw the wind, he became afraid and began to sink.
그런데 바람을 보는 순간 두려워져서 물에 빠지기 시작합니다.
“He saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink…” (Matthew 14:30).
“바람을 보고 무서워 빠져 가는지라” (마 14:30)
The moment his eyes shifted from the Lord to the situation, he began to fall apart.
주님에서 시선이 상황으로 옮겨진 순간 그는 무너지기 시작합니다.
Our lives are the same.
우리의 삶도 이와 같습니다.
We can endure when we trust and look to God’s rule, but the moment we look at our circumstances, our hearts begin to shake and collapse.
하나님의 통치를 믿고 바라볼 때는 견딜 수 있지만 상황을 바라보는 순간 마음이 흔들리고 무너지기 시작합니다.
We think that if we hold onto wealth, we will feel secure,
재물을 붙잡으면 안정될 것 같고,
and if we rely on people, things will be okay,
사람을 붙잡으면 괜찮아질 것 같고,
and if our circumstances improve, we will find peace.
상황이 좋아지면 평안해질 것 같다고 생각합니다.
However, because all these things change, we remain anxious, shaken, and always feel lacking.
그러나 그것들은 모두 변하기 때문에 우리는 늘 불안하고 흔들리며 부족함을 느끼게 됩니다.
But today’s Word clearly tells us that our faith and hope are in God (1 Peter 1:21).
그런데 오늘 말씀은 우리의 믿음과 소망이 하나님께 있게 하셨다고 분명히 말합니다 (벧전 1:21).
Now we are no longer people who place our hope in things that change.
이제 우리는 더 이상 변하는 것에 소망을 두고 사는 사람이 아닙니다.
We are people who live under the reign of God.
하나님의 통치 아래 살아가는 사람입니다.
We are those who place our hope in the unchanging God.
변하지 않으시는 하나님께 소망을 둔 사람입니다.
And what is important is that God Himself has made our faith and hope to be in Him (1 Peter 1:21).
그리고 중요한 것은 하나님께서 우리의 믿음과 소망이 하나님께 있게 하셨다는 사실입니다 (벧전 1:21).
It is not something we created on our own.
우리가 스스로 만든 것이 아닙니다.
God has changed the direction of our gaze.
하나님께서 우리의 시선을 바꾸셨습니다.
God has moved the place of our hope.
하나님께서 우리의 소망의 자리를 옮기셨습니다.
So even though we may still be shaken, we will not be completely destroyed.
그래서 우리는 여전히 흔들릴 수 있지만 완전히 무너지지 않습니다.
That is why the Lord speaks to us today:
그래서 주님은 오늘 우리에게 이렇게 말씀하십니다.
“Do not place your hope in anything else.”
“너의 소망을 다른 데 두지 말아라”
“I am the God who is still reigning.”
“나는 지금도 다스리고 있는 하나님이다”
“I am the God who has overcome death.”
“나는 죽음을 이긴 하나님이다”
“You are one who lives under My reign.”
“너는 나의 통치 아래 살아가는 사람이다”
Those of us who live with faith and hope in God trust in His reign and do not depend on what changes, but lean on the unchanging God (1 Peter 1:21).
믿음과 소망을 하나님께 두고 사는 우리는 하나님의 통치를 신뢰하며 변하는 것이 아니라 변하지 않는 하나님께 기대어 살아가는 사람입니다. (벧전 1:21)
3. we are people who love one another deeply and sincerely (22–25).
거짓 없이 형제를 뜨겁게 사랑하는 사람입니다.
We who are born again through the Word have been transferred under the reign of God.
말씀으로 거듭난 우리는 하나님의 통치 아래로 옮겨진 사람입니다.
And we are those who trust that reign and live with our hope in God.
그리고 그 통치를 믿고 하나님께 소망을 두고 살아가는 사람입니다.
Then how is that life revealed in concrete ways?
그렇다면 그 삶은 구체적으로 어떻게 드러납니까?
Peter says this:
베드로는 이렇게 말합니다.
“You have purified your souls by obeying the truth so that you have come to love one another sincerely. Love one another deeply from the heart” (1 Peter 1:22).
“너희가 진리를 순종함으로 너희 영혼을 깨끗하게 하여 거짓이 없이 형제를 사랑하기에 이르렀으니 마음으로 뜨겁게 서로 사랑하라” (벧전 1:22)
A life lived under God’s reign is always expressed through love.
하나님의 통치 아래 살아가는 삶은 반드시 사랑으로 나타납니다.
When our relationship with God is restored, our relationships with others also change.
하나님과의 관계가 회복되면 사람과의 관계도 변합니다.
But here, Peter describes the nature of that love very specifically with the phrase “sincere.”
그런데 여기서 베드로는 사랑의 모습을 “거짓이 없이” 라는 말을 통해 매우 구체적으로 표현합니다.
We say that we love, but often that love is mixed.
우리는 사랑한다고 말하지만 그 사랑이 종종 섞여 있습니다.
It is mixed with conditions,
조건이 섞여 있고,
mixed with calculations,
계산이 섞여 있고,
and mixed with self-centeredness.
자기중심이 섞여 있습니다.
So we draw close to those who treat us well,
그래서 우리는 나에게 잘해 주는 사람은 가까이하고
and naturally distance ourselves from those who make us uncomfortable.
불편한 사람은 자연스럽게 거리를 둡니다.
Outwardly we smile, but inwardly our hearts are closed.
겉으로는 웃지만 속으로는 마음을 닫고 있습니다.
That is why relationships do not deepen.
그래서 관계가 깊어지지 않습니다.
But the Word tells us, “Love without hypocrisy.”
그런데 말씀은 우리에게 “거짓이 없이 사랑하라”고 말합니다.
It is not a love that is different on the outside and inside, but a genuine love.
겉과 속이 다른 사랑이 아니라 진짜 사랑을 하라는 것입니다.
It also says to love “deeply from the heart.”
또 “마음으로 뜨겁게” 사랑하라고 말합니다.
Often, we love coldly.
우리는 종종 차갑게 사랑합니다.
We love out of obligation,
의무로 사랑하고,
we love formally,
형식적으로 사랑하고,
and we maintain relationships at a safe distance.
적당한 거리 속에서 관계를 유지합니다.
So relationships do not come alive.
그래서 관계가 살아나지 않습니다.
But that is not how God loved us.
그런데 하나님께서 우리를 사랑하신 방식은 그렇지 않았습니다.
He did not love us halfway.
우리를 적당히 사랑하지 않으셨습니다.
He did not love us with conditions.
조건을 따지며 사랑하지 않으셨습니다.
He loved us to the very end.
끝까지 사랑하셨습니다.
He loved us by paying the price.
값을 치르며 사랑하셨습니다.
He loved us without giving up.
포기하지 않고 사랑하셨습니다.
So now that love must flow out from within us.
그래서 이제 그 사랑이 우리 안에서 흘러나와야 합니다.
Peter explains the reason like this:
그 이유를 베드로는 이렇게 설명합니다.
“For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God” (1 Peter 1:23).
“너희가 거듭난 것은 썩어질 씨로 된 것이 아니요 썩지 아니할 씨로 된 것이니 살아 있고 항상 있는 하나님의 말씀으로 되었느니라” (벧전 1:23)
We who are born again through the Word are people who have received new life.
말씀으로 거듭난 우리는 새로운 생명을 받은 사람입니다.
Therefore, love is not something we force ourselves to produce,
그래서 사랑은 억지로 만들어내는 것이 아니라
but something that flows out from the life planted within us.
우리 안에 심어진 생명에서 나오는 것입니다.
In other words, it is a love made possible because God’s grace compels us.
곧 하나님의 은혜가 우리를 강권하기 때문에 가능한 사랑입니다.
Because God first loved us and accepted us to the very end,
하나님께서 우리를 먼저 사랑하시고 끝까지 받아 주셨기 때문에,
we too are held by that grace and come to love one another sincerely.
우리도 그 은혜에 붙들려 거짓 없이 형제를 사랑하게 되는 것입니다.
And then he continues:
그리고 이어서 이렇게 말합니다.
“All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever” (1 Peter 1:24–25).
“모든 육체는 풀과 같고 그 모든 영광은 풀의 꽃과 같으니 풀은 마르고 꽃은 떨어지되 오직 주의 말씀은 세세토록 있도다” (벧전 1:24–25)
The world changes.
세상은 변합니다.
People change, relationships change, and even emotions change.
사람도 변하고, 관계도 변하고, 감정도 변합니다.
So we get hurt and begin to live with closed hearts.
그래서 우리는 상처를 받고 마음을 닫고 살아가게 됩니다.
We start to think that people cannot be trusted, and we no longer want to give our hearts.
사람은 믿을 수 없다고 생각하고 더 이상 마음을 주지 않으려 합니다.
But the Word of God does not change.
그러나 하나님의 말씀은 변하지 않습니다.
And the life born through that Word does not fade away.
그 말씀으로 난 생명도 사라지지 않습니다.
That is why we can love again.
그래서 우리는 다시 사랑할 수 있습니다.
Even if we have been hurt,
상처를 받았어도,
even if we have been disappointed,
실망을 했어도,
we can open our hearts again.
다시 마음을 열 수 있습니다.
Because the foundation of our love is not people,
왜냐하면 우리의 사랑의 근거가 사람이 아니라,
but the reign of God and His Word.
하나님의 통치와 말씀이기 때문입니다.
Therefore, those who live under God’s reign
그래서 하나님의 통치 아래 살아가는 사람은
can love even when it seems impossible to love,
사랑할 수 없는 상황에서도 사랑하고,
can forgive even where forgiveness seems impossible,
용서할 수 없는 자리에서도 용서하고,
and can reconnect even where relationships have been broken.
관계가 끊어진 자리에서도 다시 이어 가는 삶을 살아갑니다.
And the Lord speaks to us today:
그리고 주님은 오늘 우리에게 이렇게 말씀하십니다.
“You are one who is loved.”
“너는 사랑받은 사람이다”
“You are one who has been born again by My life.”
“너는 나의 생명으로 다시 태어난 사람이다”
“Now live by that love.”
“이제 그 사랑으로 살아가라”
“Love sincerely.”
“거짓 없이 사랑하여라”
“Love deeply from the heart.”
“마음으로 뜨겁게 사랑하여라”
We who are born again through the Word are people who have received the life of God,
말씀으로 거듭난 우리는 하나님의 생명을 받은 사람으로서
and under His reign, we live loving one another deeply and sincerely from the heart (1 Peter 1:22–25).
그 통치 아래에서 거짓 없이 마음으로 뜨겁게 서로 사랑하며 살아가는 사람입니다. (벧전 1:22–25)
Now let us bring the message together.
이제 말씀을 정리하겠습니다.
A person who is born again through the Word is someone who has been rescued from a futile life and transferred under the reign of God.
말씀으로 거듭난 사람은 헛된 삶에서 건짐 받아 하나님의 통치 아래로 옮겨진 사람입니다.
Therefore, we no longer place our hope in the world, but live with faith and hope in God.
그래서 더 이상 세상에 소망을 두지 않고 하나님께 믿음과 소망을 두고 살아갑니다.
And that life must be expressed through love.
그리고 그 삶은 반드시 사랑으로 나타납니다.
Being born again is not merely a simple change, but an event in which the whole direction of life is changed.
거듭남은 단순한 변화가 아니라 삶의 방향이 바뀌는 사건입니다.
It means that the one under whose reign we live has changed.
우리가 누구의 통치 아래 살아가는지가 바뀌는 것입니다.
So the Lord speaks to us today.
그래서 주님은 오늘 우리에게 말씀하십니다.
“You no longer belong to a futile life.”
“너는 더 이상 헛된 삶에 속한 사람이 아니다.”
“You are now one who lives under My reign.”
“너는 이제 내 통치 아래 살아가는 사람이다.”
“Believe in Me, place your hope in Me, and live by loving one another deeply.”
“나를 믿고, 나에게 소망을 두고, 서로 뜨겁게 사랑하며 살아가라.”
May the life born again through the Word—a life that sees the kingdom of God and lives in obedience to His reign according to this Word—be the life of us all.
이 말씀을 따라 하나님의 나라를 보고, 그 통치에 순종하며 살아가는 말씀으로 거듭난 삶이 우리 모두의 삶이 되기를 바랍니다.

Thank You for giving us new life through Your Word today.
오늘도 말씀으로 우리에게 새 생명을 주심을 감사드립니다.
Thank You for rescuing us from a futile life

and bringing us under Your reign.
