The Life of a Believer Waiting for the Lord’s Return
데살로니가후서 2 Thessalonians 2:1–17
우리는 흔들리는 시대를 살고 있습니다.
We are living in a shaken and unstable age.
많은 말들이 믿음을 흔듭니다.
Many voices disturb our faith.
어떤 말은 두려움을 만들고
Some words create fear,
어떤 말은 혼란을 만듭니다.
others create confusion.
그럴수록 우리는 중심을 붙들어야 합니다.
The more this happens, the more we must hold the center.
성도의 중심은 재림의 소망입니다.
The center of a believer is the hope of the Lord’s return.
재림은 두려움의 사건이 아닙니다.
The Lord’s return is not a fearful event.
우리의 믿음을 완성하는 하나님의 약속입니다.
It is God’s promise that completes our faith.
바울은 흔들리는 교회에 말합니다.
Paul speaks to the trembling church.
“미혹 속에서도 복음 위에 서라.”
“Stand on the gospel even in the midst of deception.”
1. 흔들리는 말들 속에서도 주님의 위로 안에 마음을 지켜야 합니다 (1–4절)
Keep Your Heart in the Lord’s Comfort Amid Shaking Words
바울은 성도들에게 마음이 쉽게 흔들리지 말라고 말합니다.
Paul tells the believers not to let their hearts be easily shaken.
그 당시 교회에는 여러 말들이 떠돌았습니다.
Many different messages were circulating in the church at that time.
누군가는 주의 날이 이미 왔다고 했습니다.
Some claimed that the day of the Lord had already come.
누군가는 바울의 이름을 도용해 가짜 편지를 만들었습니다.
Others forged letters in Paul’s name.
성도들은 그 말들 때문에 불안해졌습니다.
These words made believers anxious.
믿음의 중심도 흔들렸습니다.
The center of their faith was shaken.
바울은 그런 말들에 동요하지 말라고 단호히 말합니다.
Paul firmly commands them not to be disturbed by such words.
왜냐하면 영적 언어처럼 보이는 말도
Because even words that sound spiritual
진리와 다를 수 있기 때문입니다.
can still be different from the truth.
오늘도 상황은 비슷합니다.
Today, the situation is similar.
사이비와 이단은 영적인 표현을 사용합니다.
Cults and false teachers use spiritual language.
그러나 그 말들은 성도의 마음을 흔듭니다.
But their words shake the hearts of believers.
신앙의 본질도 흐려집니다.
They blur the essence of faith.
특히 세 가지 말이 사람을 쉽게 미혹합니다.
Three kinds of messages especially mislead people.
첫째, 극단적인 종말론입니다.
First, extreme teachings about the end times.
두려움을 자극해 마음을 흔듭니다.
They stir fear and unsettle the heart.
둘째, 비밀 계시와 특별한 지식을 주장합니다.
Second, they claim secret revelations and special knowledge.
호기심을 자극해 사람을 끕니다.
They attract people by provoking curiosity.
셋째, 사람을 하나님보다 크게 만듭니다.
Third, they elevate a person above God.
그 지도자의 말이 성경보다 앞섭니다.
The leader’s words begin to outrank Scripture.
이때 성도는 하나님이 아니라 사람에게 붙들립니다.
Then believers cling not to God but to a person.
바울은 마음을 지키는 길을 제시합니다.
Paul presents the way to guard the heart.
사람의 말보다
More than human words,
하나님의 말씀을 붙드는 것입니다.
we must hold fast to God’s Word.
주님의 약속은 흔들리지 않기 때문입니다.
Because the Lord’s promises never shake.
주님은 신실하십니다.
The Lord is faithful.
주님은 성도를 굳게 세우십니다.
The Lord establishes His people firmly.
주님은 악한 자에게서 지키십니다.
The Lord protects them from the evil one.
바울이 “우리가 너희를 확신한다”고 한 말은
When Paul says, “We are confident about you,”
막연한 낙관이 아닙니다.
he is not speaking vague optimism.
그들의 믿음이 복음 위에 세워져 있었기 때문입니다.
Their faith was built on the gospel.
무엇보다 주님이 그들의 믿음을 붙드신다는 것을
Above all, he knew the Lord Himself
바울은 알고 있었습니다.
was the one upholding their faith.
그래서 그는 이렇게 말할 수 있었습니다.
So he could say these words:
“여러분은 미혹 속에서도 믿음을 잃지 않을 것입니다.
“You will not lose your faith even in deception,
주님이 여러분을 지키시기 때문입니다.”
because the Lord will keep you.”
이것은 구원을 보장한다는 뜻이 아니라
This does not mean automatic salvation,
구원받은 성도의 믿음은
but that the faith of the saved
주님의 신실하심 안에서 끝까지 지켜진다는 말입니다.
is kept by God’s faithfulness to the end.
결국 바울은 말합니다.
In the end, Paul tells them:
성도의 마음을 지키는 분은
The one who guards the believer’s heart
주님의 신실하심이라는 사실입니다.
is the Lord in His faithfulness.
우리도 많은 말들 속에서 살아갑니다.
We also live surrounded by many voices.
그 말들은 우리의 마음을 불편하게 합니다.
Those voices often trouble our hearts.
어떤 말은 두려움을 키우고
Some words amplify fear,
어떤 말은 마음을 흔듭니다.
others shake the heart.
겉으로는 신앙처럼 보이지만
Some even sound spiritual on the outside,
속으로는 중심을 흔들 때가 많습니다.
yet they unsettle our inner foundation.
이럴 때 우리는 마음을 지켜야 합니다.
At such times, we must guard our hearts.
사람의 말보다 주님의 말씀을 더 크게 들어야 합니다.
We must hear the Lord’s Word louder than human words.
주님의 신실하심을 기억해야 합니다.
We must remember the Lord’s faithfulness.
그 신실하심이 우리의 마음을 붙듭니다.
His faithfulness is what holds our hearts.
일상 속에서도 주님을 바라보는 작은 틈을 내십시오.
Make small spaces in your daily life to look toward the Lord.
기도 한 줄이어도 좋습니다.
Even a single line of prayer is enough.
말씀 한 구절을 떠올리는 것도 좋습니다.
Recalling one verse of Scripture is also enough.
그러면 흔들리던 마음이 다시 안정됩니다.
Then the shaken heart becomes steady again.
주님 안에서 평안이 회복됩니다.
Peace is restored in the Lord.
오늘 주님은 우리에게 말씀하십니다.
Today the Lord speaks to us:
“두려운 말에 흔들리지 말아라.
“Do not be shaken by fearful words.
내 신실하심 안에 머물러라.
Remain in My faithfulness.
내가 너의 마음을 지키겠다.”
I will guard your heart.”
2. 불의한 미혹에서 벗어나 진리의 사랑 안에 머물러야 합니다 (5–12절)
Remain in the Love of the Truth and Escape Deception
바울은 마지막 때의 미혹을 경고합니다.
Paul warns about the deception of the last days.
이 미혹은 단순한 혼란이 아닙니다.
This deception is not simple confusion.
불법의 사람은 자신을 하나님보다 높입니다.
The man of lawlessness exalts himself above God.
그는 사람들의 마음을 흔듭니다.
He shakes the hearts of many.
겉으로는 영적이고 놀라워 보입니다.
Outwardly, it looks spiritual and impressive.
능력과 표적과 기적처럼 보입니다.
It appears as power, signs, and wonders.
그러나 바울은 말합니다.
But Paul says:
“그것은 거짓 능력이다.”
“These are false powers.”
“거짓 표적이다.”
“They are false signs.”
“거짓 기적이다.”
“They are false wonders.”
보이는 것이 마음을 쉽게 끕니다.
Visible things easily attract the heart.
이단도 같은 방식을 사용합니다.
Cults use the same methods.
병이 낫는다고 하고 문제가 풀린다고 말합니다.
They claim healing and quick solutions.
새로운 깨달음을 준다고도 말합니다.
They promise new revelations.
이 말 자체는 잘못이 아닙니다.
These statements themselves are not wrong.
하나님은 지금도 역사하십니다.
God still works today.
문제는 시선의 방향입니다.
The issue is the direction of our gaze.
그 말이 하나님께로 이끄는지가 중요합니다.
What matters is whether it leads us toward God.
사람의 말에 의존하게 하면 미혹입니다.
If it makes us depend on people, it is deception.
다른 것이 마음을 움직이면 죄의 상태가 됩니다.
If anything else moves the heart, it becomes sin.
바울은 사람들이 미혹되는 이유를 말합니다.
Paul explains why people fall into deception.
“진리를 사랑하지 않기 때문이다.”
“It is because they do not love the truth.”
진리를 사랑하지 않으면 거짓이 달콤해집니다.
When truth is not loved, lies sound sweet.

Our morning prayer meeting is a place to draw near to the Word.
아침에 말씀 앞에 머물면 마음이 안정됩니다.
When we sit before the Word in the morning, our hearts settle.
그 말씀은 우리의 생각을 바로잡습니다.
The Word realigns our thoughts.
말씀은 하루의 방향을 세워 줍니다.
It sets the direction of our day.
말씀으로 하루를 시작하면 흔들리지 않습니다.
Starting the day in Scripture keeps us from being shaken.
아침 기도회는 성도를 지키는 은혜의 자리입니다.
The morning prayer meeting is a place of grace that protects believers.
오늘의 말씀을 삶에 적용하는 작은 걸음이 필요합니다.
We need small steps that apply the Word to daily life.
데살로니가후서 2장 13절은 말합니다.
2 Thessalonians 2:13 says:
“진리를 믿음으로 구원에 이른다.”
“God saves through belief in the truth.”
오늘 들은 말씀 하나를 붙드십시오.
Hold one word of Scripture today.
그 말씀이 말과 행동을 이끌게 하십시오.
Let that word guide your words and actions.
또 15절은 말합니다.
And verse 15 says:
“가르침을 굳게 지키라.”
“Stand firm and hold to the teachings.”
오늘 흔들린 마음의 자리를 돌아보십시오.
Look at the place where your heart was shaken today.
그 자리에서 복음을 다시 붙드십시오.
Hold the gospel again in that very place.
흔들린 자리에서 붙드는 말씀이
The Word you grasp in a shaken place
미혹을 이기는 시작이 됩니다.
becomes the beginning of resisting deception.
우리의 마음도 미혹에 흔들릴 때가 있습니다.
Our hearts too are sometimes shaken by deception.
눈에 보이는 결과가 더 크게 보일 때가 있습니다.
At times, visible results look more important to us.
빠른 해결을 약속하는 말이 마음을 끌 때가 있습니다.
Words that promise quick solutions can attract our hearts.
그러나 신앙은 눈에 보이는 현상보다
But faith does not rest on visible outcomes
하나님을 신뢰하는 데서 시작됩니다.
but begins with trusting God.
진리를 사랑하는 마음은 하루아침에 생기지 않습니다.
A heart that loves the truth is not formed overnight.
말씀을 마음에 들이는 작은 습관에서 자랍니다.
It grows through small habits of welcoming the Word.
하루 중 잠시 멈춰 말씀을 떠올리십시오.
Pause during the day and recall a word of Scripture.
그 말씀에 마음을 비추어 보십시오.
Let that word shine light on your heart.
그러면 흔들렸던 마음이 다시 자리를 잡습니다.
Then the shaken heart finds its place again.
진리를 사랑하는 마음은
A heart that loves the truth
사람의 말보다 하나님의 말씀을 앞세웁니다.
puts God’s Word ahead of human words.
상황보다 주님의 뜻을 먼저 구합니다.
It seeks the Lord’s will before reacting to circumstances.
그리고 마음은 다시 평안을 얻습니다.
And the heart regains its peace.
오늘 주님은 우리에게 말씀하십니다.
Today the Lord speaks to us:
“진리를 사랑하라.
“Love the truth.
그러면 내가 너희를 지키겠다.”
And I will guard you.”
3. 굳건히 서서 처음 배운 가르침과 신앙의 전통을 지켜야 합니다 (13–17절)
Stand Firm and Hold to the Teaching You First Received
바울은 성도들에게 처음 배운 복음을 붙들라고 말합니다.
Paul urges the believers to hold fast to the gospel they first received.
흔들리는 시대일수록 중심을 붙들어야 하기 때문입니다.
The more shaken the times, the more we must hold to the center.
바울이 말하는 중심은 단순한 교리가 아닙니다.
The center Paul speaks of is not mere doctrine.
그 중심은 십자가와 부활입니다.
The center is the cross and the resurrection.
십자가는 하나님이 어떤 분이신지를 보여줍니다.
The cross shows who God truly is.
우리를 심판만 하시는 분이 아니라
He is not a God who only judges us,
우리를 위해 죽으시는 하나님입니다.
but a God who dies for us.

The cross reveals the heart of God.

The cross, the resurrection, grace, and faith are our foundation.

When these three come together,
우리는 재림의 소망을 두려움이 아닌 기쁨으로 기다릴 수 있습니다.
we can await the Lord’s return with joy, not fear.
주님은 우리를 혼자 두지 않으십니다.
The Lord does not leave us alone.
성령께서 위로하시고
The Spirit comforts us,
은혜로 우리를 붙드십니다.
and grace holds us firm.
그러므로 오늘 우리는 한 가지 결단을 합니다.
Therefore today we make one resolution:
“흔들리는 시대 속에서 복음 위에 서겠습니다.”
“In a shaking age, I will stand on the gospel.”
주님은 그 결단을 붙드시며 끝까지 인도하실 것입니다.
And the Lord will uphold that decision and lead us to the end.

Merciful Father God,
