자기 백성을 위해 싸우시는 하나님
Exodus(출애굽기) 17:1–16
We experience many kinds of battles in life.
우리는 살아가면서 여러 가지 싸움을 경험합니다.
Some battles are visible—difficulties in daily life, health problems, conflicts in relationships, and anxiety about the future.
어떤 싸움은 눈에 보입니다. 생활의 어려움, 건강의 문제, 관계의 갈등, 미래에 대한 불안 같은 것들입니다.
But the Bible shows us that behind these visible problems there is also a battle of faith—whether we will trust God or not.
그러나 성경은 이 눈에 보이는 문제들 뒤에 하나님을 신뢰할 것인가 말 것인가 하는 믿음의 싸움도 있음을 보여 줍니다.
Exodus 17 tells us about two events Israel experienced in the wilderness: the lack of water and the battle with Amalek.
출애굽기 17장은 이스라엘이 광야에서 겪은 두 가지 사건, 곧 물이 없었던 일과 아말렉과의 전쟁을 들려줍니다.
At first they seem like separate events, but together they reveal who God is.
겉으로는 서로 다른 사건처럼 보이지만 함께 보면 하나님이 어떤 분이신지를 드러냅니다.
God does not abandon His people, He leads them through unseen struggles, and He teaches them to remember His victory.
하나님은 자기 백성을 버리지 않으시고, 보이지 않는 싸움 속에서 이끄시며, 자신의 승리를 기억하게 하시는 분이십니다.
1. God does not abandon His people even when He is doubted (1–7).
하나님은 의심받는 자리에서도 자기 백성을 버리지 않으시는 분입니다.
The Israelites left the Wilderness of Sin and came to Rephidim, following the guidance of God.
이스라엘은 하나님의 인도하심을 따라 신 광야를 떠나 르비딤에 이르렀습니다.
The Bible makes it clear that this journey was not accidental but took place “according to the command of the Lord.”
성경은 이 이동이 우연이 아니라 “여호와의 명령대로” 이루어진 것이라고 말합니다.
In other words, this was a path led by God.
즉 이 길은 하나님이 인도하신 길이었습니다.
However, there was no water there for the people to drink.
그런데 그곳에는 마실 물이 없었습니다.
In the wilderness, the absence of water was not simply an inconvenience but a matter of life and death.
광야에서 물이 없다는 것은 단순한 불편함이 아니라 생명의 위기였습니다.
As the situation grew difficult, the hearts of the people began to waver.
상황이 어려워지자 백성들의 마음이 흔들리기 시작합니다.
Verse 2 says that the people “quarreled” with Moses.
본문 2절은 백성이 모세와 “다투었다”고 말합니다.
This word describes more than simple complaint; it implies a harsh protest and an attacking attitude.
이 말은 단순한 불평이 아니라 거칠게 항의하고 공격하는 태도를 의미합니다.
They demanded of Moses, “Give us water to drink.”
백성들은 모세에게 “우리에게 물을 주어 마시게 하라”고 요구합니다.
Instead of looking to God in their difficulty, they began to place the blame on a person.
상황이 어려워지자 하나님을 바라보기보다 사람에게 책임을 돌리기 시작한 것입니다.
Moses said to them, “Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test the Lord?”
모세는 그들에게 말합니다. “어찌하여 나와 다투느냐, 어찌하여 여호와를 시험하느냐.”
Moses clearly saw the true nature of what was happening.
모세는 이 사건의 본질을 정확히 보았습니다.
Though it appeared that they were complaining against Moses, they were actually testing God.
겉으로는 모세에게 불평하는 것처럼 보이지만 실제로는 하나님을 시험하고 있는 것이었습니다.
Yet the people did not stop their complaints.
그러나 백성들의 불평은 멈추지 않습니다.
In verse 3 they say, “Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to make us and our children and livestock die of thirst?”
3절에서 그들은 이렇게 말합니다. “어찌하여 우리와 우리 자녀와 우리 가축이 목말라 죽게 하려고 우리를 애굽에서 인도해 내었느냐.”
They forgot the grace of God’s salvation and began to interpret the situation as though God intended to destroy them.
하나님이 베푸신 구원의 은혜를 잊어버리고 하나님이 자신들을 죽이려 한다는 식으로 해석하기 시작한 것입니다.
Unbelief distorts reality.
불신앙은 현실을 왜곡하게 만듭니다.
When the difficulty before our eyes becomes bigger than the grace God has already shown, our hearts easily lean toward complaint.
하나님이 행하신 은혜보다 눈앞의 어려움이 더 크게 보이기 시작하면 사람의 마음은 쉽게 원망으로 기울어집니다.
Finally Moses cried out to the Lord, “What shall I do with these people? They are almost ready to stone me.”
결국 모세는 하나님께 부르짖습니다. “이 백성을 내가 어떻게 하리이까 그들이 조금 있으면 내게 돌을 던지겠나이다.”
This scene reveals how intense the tension within the community had become.
공동체 안의 긴장이 얼마나 커졌는지를 보여 주는 장면입니다.
As trust in God weakened, the entire community was shaken with fear and aggression.
하나님을 향한 신뢰가 흔들리자 공동체 전체가 불안과 공격성으로 흔들리고 있습니다.
At that moment the Lord spoke.
바로 그때 하나님이 말씀하십니다.
God told Moses to take some of the elders with him and to strike the rock at Horeb with the staff that had struck the Nile.
하나님은 모세에게 장로들을 데리고 나가라고 하시고, 나일 강을 치던 지팡이를 손에 들고 호렙 산 반석을 치라고 말씀하십니다.
Then God said, “I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb.”
그리고 하나님은 이렇게 말씀하십니다. “내가 거기서 네 앞에 서서 호렙 산 반석 위에 있으리니.”
God Himself promised to be present at that place.
하나님이 친히 그 자리에 임하시겠다는 말씀입니다.
When Moses struck the rock, water flowed out and the people were able to drink.
모세가 반석을 치자 그곳에서 물이 흘러나왔고 백성은 마실 수 있었습니다.
It reveals who God truly is.
하나님이 어떤 분이신지를 보여 주는 사건입니다.
Though the people questioned, “Is the Lord among us or not?” God did not abandon them.
백성들은 “여호와께서 우리 중에 계신가 안 계신가”라고 의심했지만 하나님은 그들을 버리지 않으셨습니다.
Instead, He provided water that preserved their lives.
오히려 그들의 생명을 살리는 물을 공급하셨습니다.
God is the One who cares for His people even in the midst of doubt and complaint.
하나님은 의심과 원망 속에서도 자기 백성을 돌보시는 분입니다.
God does not stay with us because our faith is perfect, but because His faithfulness is perfect.
우리의 믿음이 완전하기 때문에 하나님이 함께하시는 것이 아니라 하나님의 신실하심 때문에 하나님은 우리를 떠나지 않으십니다.
There are moments in our lives that feel like a wilderness.
우리의 삶에도 이런 광야와 같은 순간이 있습니다.
Unexpected difficulties appear, and sometimes the path ahead seems completely blocked.
예상하지 못한 어려움이 찾아오고, 열심히 살아왔는데 길이 막힌 것처럼 느껴질 때가 있습니다.
In those moments a question may rise in our hearts: “Is God really with me?”
그때 마음속에서 “정말 하나님이 함께 계신가”라는 질문이 올라올 수 있습니다.
But today’s passage gives us a message of comfort.
그러나 오늘 본문은 우리에게 위로의 메시지를 전합니다.
God does not abandon His people even when He is doubted.
하나님은 의심받는 자리에서도 자기 백성을 버리지 않으시는 분입니다.
The God who brought water from the rock in the wilderness still cares for His people today.
광야에서 반석에서 물을 내신 하나님은 오늘도 자기 백성을 돌보십니다.
Even when we grow weak and our hearts tremble, God does not leave us.
우리가 연약해지고 마음이 흔들릴 때에도 하나님은 우리를 떠나지 않으십니다.
Rather, it is as if God speaks to our hearts and says,
오히려 하나님은 우리 마음에 이렇게 말씀하시는 듯합니다.
“Do not be afraid. I have led you this far, and I am still with you. Even when you cannot see it, I am working. Even in the place where you feel dry, I am preparing the water of grace.”
“두려워하지 말아라. 내가 너를 여기까지 인도했고, 지금도 너와 함께 있다. 네가 보지 못해도 나는 일하고 있고, 네가 메마르다고 느끼는 자리에서도 나는 은혜의 물을 준비하고 있다.”
And the very same God appears in the next part of the story as the One who fights for His people.
그리고 바로 그 하나님이 이어지는 이야기에서 자기 백성을 위해 싸우시는 하나님으로 나타나십니다.
2. God leads visible battles to victory through unseen struggles (8–13).
하나님은 보이는 전쟁을 보이지 않는 싸움을 통해 승리로 이끄십니다.
Right after the problem of water was resolved at Rephidim, another event followed.
르비딤에서 물의 문제를 해결한 직후, 또 다른 사건이 이어집니다.
This time it was not a problem of nature but an attack from people.
이번에는 자연 환경의 문제가 아니라 사람의 공격이었습니다.
Verse 8 says, “Then Amalek came and fought with Israel at Rephidim.”
본문 8절은 “그때에 아말렉이 와서 르비딤에서 이스라엘과 싸우니라”고 말합니다.
Amalek was a people who attacked Israel when they were most vulnerable in the wilderness.
아말렉은 이스라엘이 광야에서 가장 약해져 있을 때 공격해 온 민족이었습니다.
According to Deuteronomy 25:17–18, Amalek attacked those who were weak and lagging behind.
신명기 25장 17–18절을 보면 아말렉은 뒤처진 약한 사람들을 공격했다고 기록되어 있습니다.
This means the battle was not merely a military clash but an attack aimed at a weakened community.
즉 이 전쟁은 단순한 군사 충돌이 아니라 약해진 공동체를 노린 공격이었습니다.
The attack came right after the people’s hearts had been shaken by unbelief and complaint.
불신앙과 원망으로 마음이 흔들린 직후에 공격이 찾아온 것입니다.
Moses told Joshua to choose men and go out to fight Amalek.
모세는 여호수아에게 사람들을 택하여 아말렉과 싸우라고 말합니다.
Joshua prepared for the actual battle in the valley.
여호수아는 골짜기에서 실제 전투를 준비합니다.
At the same time, Moses went up to the top of the hill.
그러나 동시에 모세는 산 위로 올라갑니다.
He stood there holding the staff of God in his hands.
그는 하나님의 지팡이를 손에 들고 산꼭대기에 서 있습니다.
Here the passage shows a very important scene.
여기서 본문은 매우 중요한 장면을 보여 줍니다.
Verse 11 says, “Whenever Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed; and whenever he lowered his hand, Amalek prevailed.”
11절은 이렇게 말합니다. “모세가 손을 들면 이스라엘이 이기고 손을 내리면 아말렉이 이기더니.”
In the valley Joshua was fighting with a sword, but the course of the battle was determined on the hill.
골짜기에서는 여호수아가 칼을 들고 싸우고 있지만, 전쟁의 흐름은 산 위에서 결정되고 있었습니다.
This shows that the essence of this battle was not merely a visible military struggle but a struggle of depending on God.
이것은 이 전쟁의 본질이 단순히 눈에 보이는 군사력의 싸움이 아니라 하나님을 의지하는 싸움이라는 사실을 보여 줍니다.
However, Moses was also human.
그러나 모세도 사람이었습니다.
As time passed, his arms grew heavy.
시간이 지나자 그의 팔이 무거워졌습니다.
So Aaron and Hur brought a stone for him to sit on and supported his hands on each side.
그래서 아론과 훌이 돌을 가져와 모세가 그 위에 앉게 하고 양쪽에서 그의 손을 붙들어 줍니다.
As a result, his hands remained steady until sunset.
그 결과 모세의 손은 해가 질 때까지 내려오지 않았습니다.
Then the passage concludes, “Joshua overwhelmed Amalek and his people with the sword.”
그때 본문은 이렇게 말합니다. “여호수아가 칼날로 아말렉과 그 백성을 쳐서 무찌르니라.”
Outwardly it looks as though Joshua won the battle.
겉으로 보면 여호수아가 전쟁을 이긴 것처럼 보입니다.
But Scripture shows that the outcome of the battle was connected to the place of depending on God.
그러나 성경은 전쟁의 승패가 하나님을 의지하는 자리와 연결되어 있음을 보여 줍니다.
This scene teaches us the true nature of the battles God’s people face.
이 장면은 하나님의 백성이 살아가는 싸움의 본질을 가르쳐 줍니다.
We also face visible battles in our lives.
우리의 삶에도 보이는 전쟁이 있습니다.
There are problems at work, conflicts in families, struggles with health, financial burdens, and anxiety about the future.
직장의 문제, 가정의 갈등, 건강의 어려움, 경제적인 부담, 미래에 대한 불안 같은 현실의 문제들입니다.
We wrestle with these visible problems every day.
우리는 눈에 보이는 문제와 씨름하며 살아갑니다.
But Scripture reveals a deeper dimension of the battle.
그러나 성경은 그 싸움의 깊은 차원을 보여 줍니다.
In Ephesians 6:12 the apostle Paul says, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood.”
사도 바울은 에베소서 6장 12절에서 “우리의 씨름은 혈과 육을 상대하는 것이 아니요”라고 말합니다.
The battles of our lives are not only about what we see.
우리의 삶의 전쟁은 단순히 눈에 보이는 문제만의 싸움이 아닙니다.
Behind visible problems there is also a struggle of prayer and faith that depends on God.
눈에 보이는 문제 뒤에서는 하나님을 의지하는 기도와 믿음의 싸움이 함께 이루어지고 있습니다.
This passage also shows that God’s people do not fight alone.
또 이 본문은 하나님의 백성이 혼자 싸우는 공동체가 아니라는 사실도 보여 줍니다.
Joshua fights in the valley, Moses depends on God on the hill, and Aaron and Hur hold up Moses’ arms.
여호수아는 골짜기에서 싸우고, 모세는 산 위에서 하나님을 의지하고, 아론과 훌은 모세의 팔을 붙듭니다.
God brings victory through the unity of the community.
하나님은 공동체의 연합 속에서 승리를 이루십니다.
Some fight at the front, some pray behind the scenes, and some hold others up when they grow weak.
어떤 사람은 앞에서 싸우고, 어떤 사람은 뒤에서 기도하고, 어떤 사람은 서로를 붙들어 줍니다.
God continues the unseen battle through a community that strengthens one another.
하나님은 이렇게 서로를 세워 주는 공동체를 통해 보이지 않는 싸움을 이어 가게 하십니다.
This is also why our church prays for one another every morning and prays for mission fields every Wednesday.
우리 교회가 아침마다 교우들을 위해 기도하고, 매주 수요일마다 선교지를 위해 기도하는 것도 바로 이 때문입니다.
We are not a community that deals only with visible problems, but a community that carries the unseen battle through prayer and dependence on God.
우리는 눈에 보이는 문제만 다루는 공동체가 아니라, 하나님을 의지하는 기도로 보이지 않는 싸움을 함께 감당하는 공동체입니다.
There are times when life feels like a battle.
우리의 삶이 전쟁처럼 느껴질 때가 있습니다.
The problem is visible before our eyes, but the solution seems nowhere to be found.
문제는 눈앞에 보이는데 해결의 길이 보이지 않을 때도 있습니다.
Yet God leads visible battles through unseen struggles.
그러나 하나님은 보이는 전쟁을 보이지 않는 싸움을 통해 이끌어 가시는 분입니다.
When we depend on God, He works even in places we cannot see.
우리가 하나님을 의지할 때 하나님은 우리가 보지 못하는 자리에서도 일하십니다.
Sometimes we see only the people who fight like Joshua in the valley.
때로 우리는 단지 여호수아처럼 싸우는 사람의 모습만 봅니다.
But God is at work on the hill as well.
그러나 하나님은 산 위의 자리에서도 역사하십니다.
That is why the victory of God’s people ultimately comes from God.
그래서 하나님의 백성의 승리는 결국 하나님에게서 오는 것입니다.
This event once again reveals who God is.
이 사건은 결국 하나님이 어떤 분이신지를 다시 보여 줍니다.
God does not leave His people to fight alone.
하나님은 자기 백성을 홀로 싸우게 두지 않으시는 분입니다.
He sustains His people in unseen places, enables the community to support one another, and leads them to victory.
하나님은 보이지 않는 자리에서 자기 백성을 붙드시고, 공동체를 통해 서로를 붙들게 하시며, 마침내 승리로 이끄시는 분입니다.
Therefore it is as if God speaks to our hearts and says,
그러므로 하나님은 우리 마음에 이렇게 말씀하시는 듯합니다.
“My beloved, just because you have grown weak does not mean I have abandoned you. Just because you are weary does not mean I have stopped working. I am still holding you, and I am raising people who will lift their hands for you.”
“사랑하는 자여, 네가 약해졌다고 해서 내가 너를 버린 것이 아니다. 네가 지쳐 있다고 해서 내가 일을 멈춘 것도 아니다. 나는 지금도 너를 붙들고 있고, 너를 위해 함께 손을 들어 줄 사람들을 세우고 있다.”
And God does not allow this victory to pass as a mere event, but in the next scene He calls His people to remember it.
그리고 하나님은 그 승리를 단순한 사건으로 지나가게 하지 않고, 다음 장면에서 그 승리를 기억하게 하십니다.
3. God causes His people to remember the victory He Himself has accomplished (14–16).
하나님은 자신이 이루신 승리를 자기 백성에게 기억하게 하십니다.
After the battle with Amalek was over, God gave Moses an important command.
아말렉과의 전투가 끝난 후 하나님은 모세에게 중요한 명령을 하십니다.
In verse 14 the Lord says, “Write this as a memorial in a book and recite it in the ears of Joshua.”
14절에서 하나님은 이렇게 말씀하십니다. “이것을 책에 기록하여 기념하게 하고 여호수아의 귀에 외워 들리라.”
God did not end this event simply by bringing the war to a close.
하나님은 단순히 전쟁을 끝내시는 것으로 이 사건을 마무리하지 않으셨습니다.
Rather, He commanded that this victory be recorded and remembered.
오히려 이 승리를 기록하고 기억하게 하라고 말씀하십니다.
This command was meant to leave the work God had done in the memory of the community.
이 명령은 하나님이 이루신 일을 공동체의 기억 속에 남기기 위한 것이었습니다.
God did not want His people to forget what He had done.
하나님은 자신의 백성이 하나님의 일을 잊어버리지 않기를 원하셨습니다.
The passage clearly shows why God said this.
본문은 하나님이 왜 이렇게 말씀하시는지를 분명히 보여 줍니다.
He says, “I will utterly blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven.”
하나님은 “내가 아말렉을 없이하여 천하에서 기억도 못 하게 하리라”고 말씀하십니다.
This battle was not merely a single conflict that ended in one moment.
이 전쟁은 단순한 한 번의 충돌로 끝나는 사건이 아니었습니다.
It revealed God’s opposition to the force that sought to separate God and His people.
하나님과 그의 백성을 갈라놓으려는 세력에 대한 하나님의 대적을 보여 주는 사건이었습니다.
That is why God commanded that this event be written down and spoken into Joshua’s hearing.
그래서 하나님은 이 사건을 기록하게 하시고 여호수아에게 들려주게 하셨습니다.
Joshua would one day become the leader of Israel, and God wanted him to know clearly how the victory had been won.
앞으로 이스라엘을 이끌 지도자가 될 여호수아에게 하나님이 어떻게 승리를 이루셨는지를 분명히 알게 하려는 뜻이었습니다.
Then Moses built an altar and called its name “The Lord Is My Banner.”
이어 모세는 제단을 쌓고 그 이름을 “여호와 닛시”라고 부릅니다.
This name means, “The Lord is my banner.”
이 이름은 “여호와는 나의 깃발”이라는 뜻입니다.
In battle, a banner represents the center and direction of an army.
전쟁에서 깃발은 군대의 중심과 방향을 나타내는 상징입니다.
Moses was confessing that this victory had not come from Israel’s strength but from God.
모세는 이 승리가 이스라엘의 힘에서 나온 것이 아니라 하나님에게서 왔다는 사실을 고백한 것입니다.
Joshua fought with the sword, but the victory continued as Moses’ hands were held up.
여호수아가 칼을 들고 싸웠지만, 모세의 손이 들려 있었을 때 승리가 이어졌습니다.
In the end, God was the true Lord of the battle.
결국 이 전쟁의 주인은 하나님이셨습니다.
That is why Moses declared, “The Lord will be at war with Amalek from generation to generation.”
그래서 모세는 “여호와께서 대대로 아말렉과 더불어 싸우리라”고 선언합니다.
This event was to be remembered so that the community would never forget that God fights for His people.
하나님이 자기 백성을 위해 싸우시는 하나님이라는 사실을 공동체가 잊지 않도록 이 사건을 기념하게 한 것입니다.
Throughout Scripture, God often calls His people to remember.
성경을 보면 하나님은 종종 자신의 백성에게 기억을 요청하십니다.
The Passover was also established after the exodus for the same reason.
출애굽 사건 이후에 유월절을 지키게 하신 것도 같은 이유였습니다.
When God’s people remember what He has done, their faith is renewed.
하나님이 행하신 일을 기억할 때 믿음이 다시 살아나기 때문입니다.
But when they forget His works, their hearts easily return to fear and unbelief.
반대로 하나님의 일을 잊어버리면 사람의 마음은 쉽게 두려움과 불신으로 돌아갑니다.
In fact, one reason Israel repeatedly fell in the wilderness was that they forgot what God had done for them.
실제로 이스라엘이 광야에서 반복해서 넘어졌던 이유도 하나님이 행하신 일을 잊어버렸기 때문이었습니다.
There are also things in our lives that God has done.
우리의 삶에도 하나님이 이루신 일들이 있습니다.
There have been times when a way opened in a moment of crisis.
때로는 위기의 순간에 길이 열렸던 경험이 있고,
There have been moments of unexpected help.
예상하지 못한 도움을 받았던 순간도 있으며,
And there have been times when we could confess that God Himself held us fast.
하나님이 우리를 붙들어 주셨다고 고백할 수 있는 시간이 있습니다.
Yet as time passes, people easily forget that grace.
그러나 시간이 지나면 사람은 그 은혜를 쉽게 잊어버립니다.
That is why God wants His people to live by remembering what He has done.
그래서 하나님은 자신의 백성이 하나님의 일을 기억하며 살기를 원하십니다.
When we remember what God has done, we learn to trust Him again.
하나님이 하신 일을 기억할 때 우리는 다시 하나님을 신뢰하게 되고,
And we gain strength to look to Him even in new difficulties.
새로운 어려움 속에서도 하나님을 바라볼 힘을 얻게 됩니다.
The name “The Lord Is My Banner” still remains an important confession for us today.
여호와 닛시라는 이름은 지금도 우리에게 중요한 고백이 됩니다.
The victories of our lives are not accomplished by our ability or our plans alone.
우리의 삶의 승리는 우리의 능력이나 계획만으로 이루어지는 것이 아닙니다.
When God holds us and becomes our banner, we do not collapse.
하나님이 우리를 붙드시고 하나님이 우리의 깃발이 되실 때 우리는 흔들리지 않습니다.
It is as if God is asking us even now,
하나님은 마치 우리에게 이렇게 요청하시는 것 같습니다.
“Do not forget what I have done for you. Remember that it was by My grace that you survived the place of crisis, that you did not fall, and that you have come this far. And from this day on, keep holding on to Me as your banner.”
“내가 너를 위해 이루었던 일을 잊지 말아라. 네가 위기의 자리에서 살았던 것도, 넘어지지 않았던 것도, 끝내 여기까지 온 것도 나의 은혜였음을 기억하여라. 그리고 앞으로도 나를 네 깃발로 붙들어라.”
So this event is not merely a record of war.
그래서 이 사건은 단순한 전쟁의 기록이 아니라
It is the Word that reveals who God is.
하나님이 어떤 분이신지를 보여 주는 말씀입니다.
God is the One who fights for His people,
하나님은 자기 백성을 위해 싸우시는 하나님이시며,
And He is the One who engraves that victory into the memory of His people so that they will not forget.
그 승리를 잊지 않도록 자기 백성의 기억 속에 새기시는 하나님이십니다.
Let us now summarize today’s message.
오늘 말씀을 정리하겠습니다.
The story of Exodus 17 ultimately shows us who God is.
출애굽기 17장의 이야기는 결국 하나님이 어떤 분이신지를 보여 줍니다.
God does not abandon His people even when they doubt Him.
하나님은 의심받는 자리에서도 자기 백성을 버리지 않으시는 분입니다.
He leads visible battles through unseen struggles.
또한 하나님은 보이는 전쟁을 보이지 않는 싸움을 통해 이끄시는 분입니다.
And He causes His people to remember that the victory belongs to Him.
그리고 그 승리가 하나님께 속해 있음을 기억하게 하십니다.
There are wilderness seasons in our lives as well.
우리의 삶에도 광야와 같은 시간이 있습니다.
But God does not abandon us.
그러나 하나님은 우리를 버리지 않으십니다.
He works even in places we cannot see, and in the end He makes our lives a story of His grace.
하나님은 우리가 보지 못하는 자리에서도 일하시며 마침내 우리의 삶을 하나님의 은혜의 이야기로 만드십니다.
So today we can confess with faith:
그래서 우리는 오늘 믿음으로 이렇게 고백할 수 있습니다.

Gracious God, we thank You for speaking to us through Your Word today.
은혜로우신 하나님 아버지, 오늘 말씀을 통해 우리에게 말씀하여 주심을 감사합니다.
When we walk through the wilderness of life and our hearts begin to tremble, remind us that You never abandon Your people.
우리가 인생의 광야를 지나며 마음이 흔들릴 때에도 하나님께서 자기 백성을 결코 버리지 않으신다는 사실을 기억하게 하옵소서.
When visible battles surround us, help us remember that the true battle is fought by faith and prayer as we depend on You.

Build us into a community that strengthens one another, lifts up weary hands, and stands together in faith.
