John 요한복음 10:1–10
Our confusion today is not because there is no path, but because there are too many voices.
오늘 우리의 혼란은 길이 없어서가 아니라, 너무 많은 목소리 때문입니다.
We constantly stand at the point of decision about whom to follow and what standard to live by.
누구를 따라갈 것인지, 어떤 기준으로 살아갈 것인지 늘 선택의 자리 앞에 서 있습니다.
Some follow their own experiences, while others follow the standards of the world.
어떤 사람은 자신의 경험을 따라가고, 어떤 사람은 세상의 기준을 따라갑니다.
Especially today, we live surrounded by countless voices through social media.
특히 오늘날 우리는 소셜 미디어 속에서 수많은 목소리에 둘러싸여 살아갑니다.
Some say we must live this way, while others say we must do that to succeed.
누구는 이렇게 살아야 한다고 말하고, 누구는 저렇게 해야 성공한다고 말합니다.
Amid all these standards and opinions, we become increasingly confused and find it difficult to discern which path is right.
그 수많은 기준과 의견 속에서 우리는 점점 더 혼란스러워지고, 어느 길이 옳은 길인지 분별하기 어려워집니다.
In today’s passage, Jesus speaks clearly to us.
오늘 본문에서 예수님은 우리에게 분명하게 말씀하십니다.
“I am not only the Shepherd who leads you, but also the gate through which you must enter.”
나는 너희를 인도하는 목자일 뿐 아니라, 너희가 들어가야 할 문이다.
This shows us both who leads our lives and where we must enter to find true life.
이 말씀은 누가 우리의 삶을 이끄시는지, 그리고 어디로 들어가야 참된 생명이 있는지를 동시에 보여줍니다.
1. Jesus is the personal Shepherd who calls us by name and waits for our response. (1–3)
예수님은 우리의 이름을 부르시며 응답을 기다리시는 인격적인 목자이십니다.
In John 10:1, Jesus says, “Anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber.”
요한복음 10장 1절에서 예수님은 “문으로 들어가지 아니하고 다른 데로 넘어가는 자는 절도며 강도라”고 말씀하십니다.
And in verse 2, “The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.”
그리고 2절에서는 “문으로 들어가는 이는 양의 목자라”고 하십니다.
This shows clearly how God relates to us.
이 말씀은 하나님께서 우리를 어떤 방식으로 대하시는지를 분명하게 보여줍니다.
A thief climbs over the wall and enters without asking.
강도는 담을 넘어옵니다. 상대의 의사를 묻지 않고 들어옵니다.
But the shepherd enters through the gate.
그러나 목자는 문으로 들어옵니다.
Jesus does not ignore our personhood or force Himself on us, but relates to us in a personal relationship.
예수님은 우리의 인격을 무시하고 밀어붙이시는 분이 아니라, 관계 속에서 우리를 대하시는 분이십니다.
So in verse 3, “The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice.”
그래서 3절에서 “문지기는 그를 위하여 문을 열고 양은 그의 음성을 듣나니”라고 하십니다.
“He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.”
“그가 자기 양의 이름을 각각 불러 인도하여 내느니라”고 하십니다.
Jesus does not break the door down.
예수님은 문을 부수고 들어오지 않으십니다.
He stands at the door and waits, and He enters when we open it.
문 앞에 서서 기다리십니다. 그리고 우리가 열 때 들어오십니다.
This connects with Revelation 3:20: “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in.”
이 모습은 “볼지어다 내가 문 밖에 서서 두드리노니 누구든지 내 음성을 듣고 문을 열면 내가 그에게로 들어가…”라는 말씀과 연결됩니다 (계 3:20).
The Lord is almighty, yet He does not force our hearts open. He invites us and waits for us.
주님은 전능하시지만 우리의 마음을 강제로 열지 않으시고, 초청하시고 기다리시는 분이십니다.
This personal relationship is clearly seen in our daily lives.
이 인격적인 관계는 우리의 일상 속에서도 분명하게 드러납니다.
The way we speak is important, but the response of the listener is also important.
말하는 방식도 중요하지만, 듣는 사람의 반응도 중요합니다.
If we say to a husband who comes home late after a long day, “Why do you push yourself so hard and fail to manage yourself?” his heart may close.
하루 종일 일하고 늦게 들어온 남편에게 “왜 그렇게 무리하고 조절을 못해요?”라고 말하면 마음이 닫힐 수 있습니다.
But if we say, “Honey, you worked so hard until late. I’m worried about your health,” the same concern is heard as love.
그러나 “여보, 늦은 시간까지 너무 수고가 많았네요. 건강이 걱정돼요”라고 말하면 같은 걱정이라도 사랑으로 들립니다.
At that moment, if the husband responds, “Thank you for caring about me. I’ll try to take better care of myself,” instead of saying, “Why don’t you understand me?” the relationship comes alive.
그때 남편도 “왜 나를 이해 못 해?”라고 반응하기보다 “걱정해 줘서 고마워. 나도 조절해 볼게”라고 응답하면 관계가 살아납니다.
The same is true in conversations with children.
자녀와의 대화도 마찬가지입니다.
If we say, “Why are your grades like this again?” the child’s heart closes even more.
“너 이번에도 성적이 왜 이 모양이냐”라고 말하면 아이의 마음은 더 닫힙니다.
But if we say, “You worked hard studying. I’m proud of your effort,” the child’s heart opens.
그러나 “공부하느라 수고 많았지? 노력하는 네 모습이 참 좋다”라고 말하면 아이의 마음이 열립니다.
At that moment, if the child responds, “Thank you for encouraging me. I’ll try to do better next time,” instead of saying, “Mom, you always nag me,” the relationship grows deeper.
그때 자녀도 “엄마는 맨날 잔소리야”라고 마음을 닫기보다 “격려해 줘서 고마워요. 다음에는 더 잘해 볼게요”라고 응답하면 관계가 깊어집니다.
A personal relationship is not formed by force.
인격적인 관계는 강요로 이루어지지 않습니다.
It is formed when love calls and the heart opens in response.
사랑으로 부르고, 마음을 열어 응답할 때 이루어집니다.
Even in the same situation, the way we speak completely changes the result of the relationship.
같은 상황이지만 말의 방식이 다르면 관계의 결과가 완전히 달라집니다.
Condemnation closes the heart, but love opens the heart.
정죄는 마음을 닫게 하고, 사랑은 마음을 열게 합니다.
Jesus treats us in this way.
예수님은 우리를 그렇게 대하십니다.
He does not condemn and push us, but knows our situation, knocks on our hearts, and waits for our response.
정죄하며 몰아붙이시는 분이 아니라, 우리의 형편을 아시고, 마음을 두드리시며, 응답하기를 기다리시는 분이십니다.
Jesus also says that He “calls his own sheep by name” and leads them (John 10:3).
또한 예수님은 “자기 양의 이름을 각각 불러” 인도하신다고 말씀하십니다 (요 10:3).
This calling is not a simple emotion or a momentary feeling.
이 부르심은 단순한 감정이나 순간적인 느낌이 아닙니다.
The Lord calls us not through vague feelings, but through the Word rightly understood.
주님은 우리의 막연한 느낌이 아니라, 바르게 이해된 말씀을 통해 우리를 부르십니다.
It is a calling that helps us know who God is through His Word.
말씀을 통해 하나님이 어떤 분이신지를 알게 하시는 부르심입니다.
That is why we must read the Bible in its context.
그래서 우리는 성경을 읽을 때 반드시 문맥 속에서 이해해야 합니다.
If we hold on to just one verse, we can completely misunderstand its meaning.
한 구절만 붙잡으면 전혀 다른 의미로 오해할 수 있기 때문입니다.
For example, there is a phrase that says, “There is no God” (Psalm 14:1).
예를 들어 “하나님이 없다 하도다”라는 말씀이 있습니다 (시 14:1).
If we look only at that phrase, it may seem to say that there is no God.
이 구절만 보면 하나님이 없다는 뜻처럼 보일 수 있습니다.
But when we read the whole verse, it says, “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’”
그러나 전체를 보면 “어리석은 자는 그의 마음에 이르기를 하나님이 없다 하도다”라고 되어 있습니다.
There is also a verse that says, “I can do all this through him who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13).
또 “내게 능력 주시는 자 안에서 내가 모든 것을 할 수 있느니라”는 말씀도 있습니다 (빌 4:13).
If we look only at this verse, it may sound like we can do anything we want.
이 말씀만 보면 무엇이든 다 할 수 있다는 의미처럼 들릴 수 있습니다.
But in the verse right before it, Paul says,
그러나 바로 앞 구절을 보면 바울은 이렇게 말합니다.
“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty.
“나는 비천에 처할 줄도 알고 풍부에 처할 줄도 알아
I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want” (Philippians 4:12).
모든 일 곧 배부름과 배고픔과 풍부와 궁핍에도 처할 줄 아는 일체의 비결을 배웠노라” (빌 4:12).
Paul is not talking about success, but about a life that remains steady in every situation.
바울은 성공을 말하고 있는 것이 아니라 어떤 상황 속에서도 흔들리지 않는 삶을 말하고 있습니다.
So when he says, “I can do all things,” he is not speaking about achieving anything, but about living faithfully in every circumstance.
그래서 이어지는 “모든 것을 할 수 있다”는 말은 무엇이든 이루는 능력이 아니라 어떤 형편에서도 믿음으로 살아낼 수 있는 능력을 의미합니다.
In this way, the Bible is not something to be interpreted by a single verse or a feeling, but something to be understood through its context and overall flow.
이처럼 성경은 한 구절의 느낌으로 해석하는 말씀이 아니라 문맥과 전체 흐름 속에서 이해해야 하는 말씀입니다.
When God calls us, He helps us know who He is through His Word and renews our thoughts and standards according to that Word.
하나님께서 우리를 부르신다는 것은 말씀을 통해 하나님이 어떤 분이신지를 알게 하시고, 그 말씀을 따라 우리의 생각과 기준을 새롭게 하시는 것입니다.
Therefore, hearing God’s voice is not about seeking a special experience, but about knowing God through His Word and standing before that Word.
그래서 하나님의 음성을 듣는다는 것은 특별한 체험을 찾는 것이 아니라 말씀을 통해 하나님을 알고 그 말씀 앞에 서는 것입니다.
At this point, our attitude is very important.
이때 우리의 자세가 중요합니다.
Just as Samuel responded, “Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening” (1 Samuel 3:10),
사무엘이 “여호와여 말씀하옵소서 주의 종이 듣겠나이다”라고 응답했던 것처럼 (삼상 3:10),
we need a heart that is willing to listen and an attitude ready to obey.
듣고자 하는 마음과 순종하려는 태도가 필요합니다.
When we begin to stand before the Word in this way, we come to know God, and in that relationship we become more sensitive to His voice.
이렇게 말씀 앞에 서기 시작할 때 우리는 하나님을 알아가게 되고, 그 관계 속에서 주님의 음성에 점점 민감해집니다.
In the end, Jesus stands at the door and knocks (Revelation 3:20), calls us by name (John 10:3), and invites us into a relationship through His Word as our personal Shepherd.
결국 예수님은 문 밖에서 두드리시며 (계 3:20), 우리의 이름을 부르시고 (요 10:3), 말씀을 통해 하나님을 알게 하시며 그 관계로 우리를 초청하시는 인격적인 목자이십니다.
Therefore, today we must respond like this.
그러므로 오늘 우리는 이렇게 응답해야 합니다.
Lord, I open the door of my heart.
주님, 제 마음의 문을 엽니다.
Help me to hear Your Word rightly and to obey in faith.
주님의 말씀을 바르게 듣고, 믿음으로 순종하게 하옵소서.
2. Jesus is the Shepherd who leads us ahead and helps us discern His will in our lives. (3–5)
예수님은 우리의 삶 속에서 깨닫게 하시며 앞서 인도하시는 목자이십니다.
In John 10:4, Jesus says, “When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.”
요한복음 10장 4절에서 예수님은 “앞서 가시면 양들이 그의 음성을 아는 고로 따라오되”라고 말씀하십니다.
And in verse 5, “But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.”
그리고 5절에서는 “타인의 음성은 따르지 아니하고 도리어 도망하느니라”고 하십니다.
This shows clearly how the Lord leads us.
이 말씀은 주님의 인도하심이 어떤 방식으로 이루어지는지를 분명하게 보여줍니다.
Jesus does not push us from behind but goes ahead of us.
예수님은 우리를 뒤에서 밀어붙이시는 분이 아니라 앞서 가시는 목자이십니다.
We are the sheep who follow after Him.
우리는 그 뒤를 따라가는 양입니다.
Therefore, faith is not about creating our own path, but about looking at the path Jesus has already walked and following Him.
그래서 신앙은 스스로 길을 만들어 가는 삶이 아니라 주님이 이미 걸어가신 길을 바라보고 따라가는 삶입니다.
Jesus says, “The sheep know his voice” (John 10:4).
예수님은 “양들이 그의 음성을 안다”고 하십니다 (요 10:4).
Here, “to know” does not mean simply having information, but having a relational understanding that discerns and chooses the Lord’s way.
여기서 ‘안다’는 것은 단순히 정보를 아는 것이 아니라 무엇이 주님의 길인지 분별하고 선택할 수 있는 관계적 인식을 의미합니다.
So in verse 5, He says, “They will not follow a stranger.”
그래서 5절에서 “타인의 음성은 따르지 아니한다”고 하십니다.
This does not mean they cannot hear other voices, but that they do not live by following them.
이것은 다른 소리를 듣지 못한다는 뜻이 아니라 그 소리를 따라 살지 않는다는 의미입니다.
We stand at crossroads in the important moments of life.
우리는 삶의 중요한 순간마다 갈림길에 서게 됩니다.
At those times, the world speaks to us.
그때 세상은 우리에게 말합니다.
It tells us to choose the easier path.
더 편한 길을 선택하라고 말합니다.
It tells us to choose the safer path.
더 안전한 길을 선택하라고 말합니다.
It tells us that the wise choice is the one where we do not lose anything.
손해 보지 않는 길이 지혜라고 말합니다.
But those who know the voice of the Lord choose the path that pleases Him even among all those voices.
그러나 주님의 음성을 아는 사람은 그 모든 소리 속에서도 주님이 기뻐하시는 길을 선택합니다.
The path we follow is the path Jesus has already walked.
우리가 따라가는 길은 예수님께서 먼저 걸어가신 길입니다.
Jesus chose the path of love rather than the path of self-preservation.
예수님은 자신을 지키는 길보다 사랑을 이루는 길을 선택하셨습니다.
He endured patiently, gave Himself, and walked the path that brings life to others.
주님은 오래 참으셨고, 자신을 내어주셨고, 생명을 살리는 길을 끝까지 걸어가셨습니다.
From the world’s perspective, that path looked like a path of loss.
세상의 눈으로 보면 그 길은 손해의 길처럼 보였습니다.
It looked like a path of failure.
실패의 길처럼 보였습니다.
It looked like a path that ended at the cross.
십자가에서 끝나는 길처럼 보였습니다.
But God raised Jesus from the dead and revealed that this path was not defeat, but the way of life.
그러나 하나님은 예수님을 다시 살리심으로 그 길이 패배가 아니라 생명의 길임을 드러내셨습니다.
So Jesus said, “Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds” (John 12:24).
그래서 예수님은 “한 알의 밀이 땅에 떨어져 죽으면 많은 열매를 맺는다”고 말씀하셨습니다 (요 12:24).
This passage clearly shows the direction of the path we must take as we follow the Lord.
이 말씀은 주님을 따르는 길의 방향을 분명히 보여줍니다.
It is not a path where we cling to protect ourselves, but a path where we give ourselves for the sake of love.
그 길은 나를 보호하기 위해 움켜쥐는 길이 아니라, 사랑을 위해 나를 내어주는 길입니다.
As we follow the Lord, there are times when we must make choices that others may not understand.
그래서 주님을 따르다 보면 때로는 사람의 눈에 이해되지 않는 선택을 해야 할 때가 있습니다.
There are times when we must choose what looks like a loss.
손해처럼 보이는 결정을 해야 할 때도 있습니다.
But if that path is within the will of the Lord, our obedience is never in vain.
그러나 그 길이 주님의 뜻 안에 있는 길이라면 그 순종은 결코 헛되지 않습니다.
God proved through the resurrection of Jesus that the path of giving oneself in love is the path of life.
하나님은 예수님의 부활을 통해 사랑을 위해 자신을 내어주는 길이 생명의 길임을 증명하셨습니다.
Therefore, those who know and follow the Lord’s voice do not move because they can predict every outcome.
그러므로 주님의 음성을 알고 따르는 사람은 결과를 다 예측해서 움직이는 사람이 아닙니다.
They step forward with joy because they believe the Lord’s will is right and they love that will.
주님의 뜻이 옳음을 믿고, 그 뜻을 사랑하기 때문에 기쁨으로 한 걸음 내딛는 사람입니다.
The apostle Paul also walked this path.
사도 바울도 이 길을 걸었습니다.
He knew that chains and hardships were waiting for him as he went to Jerusalem (Acts 20:23).
바울은 예루살렘으로 가는 길에 결박과 환난이 기다리고 있음을 알았습니다 (행 20:23).
Yet he did not stop just because suffering awaited him.
그러나 고난이 있다는 이유만으로 그 길을 멈추지 않았습니다.
What mattered to Paul was not comfort, but his mission.
바울에게 중요한 것은 편안함이 아니라 사명이었습니다.
It was not about protecting himself, but about faithfully testifying to the gospel he had received from the Lord.
자신을 지키는 일이 아니라 주님께 받은 복음을 끝까지 증언하는 일이었습니다.
So Paul confessed, “I consider my life worth nothing to me” (Acts 20:24).
그래서 바울은 “나의 생명조차 조금도 귀한 것으로 여기지 아니하노라”고 고백했습니다 (행 20:24).
Those who know the Lord’s voice do not seek only the easy path.
주님의 음성을 아는 사람은 편한 길만 찾지 않습니다.
If a path is within the will of the Lord, they walk it by faith, even if it is difficult.
주님의 뜻이 있는 길이라면, 어렵더라도 믿음으로 그 길을 걸어갑니다.
At times, we hesitate before the path of following the Lord.
주님을 따르는 길 앞에서 우리는 주저할 때가 있습니다.
We want to stay where we are, and we feel afraid to take even one step forward.
현실에 안주하고 싶고, 한 걸음을 내딛는 것이 두려울 때가 있습니다.
At that moment, the Lord speaks to us.
그때 주님은 우리에게 말씀하십니다.
“Do not be afraid. I have walked that path before you.
“두려워하지 말아라. 내가 너보다 먼저 그 길을 걸어갔다.
Even if you fall, it is okay. I will raise you up again.
넘어져도 괜찮다. 내가 다시 일으켜 세울 것이다.
You do not have to be perfect. I delight in your heart that takes one step to follow Me.”
완벽하지 않아도 좋다. 나를 따라 한 걸음 내딛는 그 마음을 내가 기뻐한다.”
Therefore, we do not obey because we know all the outcomes.
그러므로 우리는 결과를 다 알기 때문에 순종하는 것이 아닙니다.
We obey because we trust the Lord who goes before us.
앞서 가신 주님을 신뢰하기 때문에 순종합니다.
Even if that step seems small, if it is a step toward the Lord, it will surely bear the fruit of life.
그 한 걸음이 작아 보여도 주님을 향한 걸음이라면 그 길은 반드시 생명의 열매를 맺는 길이 됩니다.
Jesus is the Shepherd who goes before us and leads us.
예수님은 앞서 가시며 우리를 인도하시는 목자이십니다.
We must know His voice and live a life that follows His path.
우리는 그 음성을 알고 그 길을 따라가는 삶을 살아가야 합니다.
3. Jesus is the Gate who leads us to live a full and abundant life. (9–10)
예수님은 우리로 풍성한 생명을 누리게 하시는 문이 되십니다.
In John 10:9, Jesus says, “I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture.”
요한복음 10장 9절에서 예수님은 “내가 문이니 누구든지 나로 말미암아 들어가면 구원을 받고 또는 들어가며 나오며 꼴을 얻으리라”고 말씀하십니다.
And in verse 10, He says, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
그리고 10절에서는 “내가 온 것은 양으로 생명을 얻게 하고 더 풍성히 얻게 하려는 것이라”고 하십니다.
Jesus is not only the Shepherd, but also the Gate.
예수님은 자신을 목자일 뿐 아니라 문이라고 하십니다.
This means that the only way to enter into life is through Jesus.
이 말씀은 우리가 생명으로 들어가는 길이 오직 예수님이라는 뜻입니다.
To enter through Jesus, who is the Gate, means that our place of life changes.
문 되신 예수님을 통하여 들어간다는 것은 삶의 자리가 바뀐다는 뜻입니다.
A person who remained outside of Jesus now comes into Him, and one who was separated from God enters into a relationship with Him.
예수님 밖에 머물던 사람이 예수님 안으로 들어가고, 하나님과 단절되었던 사람이 하나님과의 관계 안으로 들어갑니다.
That is why Jesus says, “Whoever enters through me will be saved” (John 10:9).
그래서 예수님은 “나로 말미암아 들어가면 구원을 받는다”고 말씀하십니다 (요 10:9).
This salvation is not only about what happens after death, but about a life now restored in relationship with God.
이 구원은 죽은 뒤의 일이 아니라 지금 하나님과의 관계가 회복되어 그 안에서 살아가는 삶입니다.
Jesus also says, “They will come in and go out, and find pasture” (John 10:9).
또 예수님은 “들어가며 나오며 꼴을 얻으리라”고 말씀하십니다 (요 10:9).
This means that life in Jesus is not a restricted life, but a life of freedom, and not an abandoned life, but a life cared for.
이것은 예수님 안에 있는 삶이 억눌린 삶이 아니라 자유로운 삶이며, 버려진 삶이 아니라 돌봄을 받는 삶이라는 뜻입니다.
In the Lord, we are protected, we walk freely in the path of life, and we receive the grace we need each day.
주님 안에서 우리는 보호를 받고, 자유롭게 삶의 길을 걸어가며, 날마다 필요한 은혜를 공급받습니다.
That is why Jesus says, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10).
그래서 예수님은 “내가 온 것은 양으로 생명을 얻게 하고 더 풍성히 얻게 하려는 것이라”고 말씀하십니다 (요 10:10).
An abundant life is not a life of having many things or a life without problems, but a life lived in relationship with God.
풍성한 생명은 많이 가지는 삶이나 문제가 없는 삶이 아니라 하나님과의 관계 안에서 누리는 삶입니다.
The Bible clearly shows this kind of life.
성경은 이 모습을 분명하게 보여줍니다.
Even while being chased in the wilderness, David confessed, “The Lord is my shepherd; I lack nothing” (Psalm 23:1).
다윗은 광야에서 쫓기는 상황 속에서도 “여호와는 나의 목자시니 내게 부족함이 없으리로다”라고 고백했습니다 (시 23:1).
This is because his satisfaction came not from his circumstances, but from his relationship with God.
다윗은 환경이 아니라 하나님과의 관계 안에서 만족을 누렸기 때문입니다.
The same is true in our lives.
우리의 삶도 그렇습니다.
At work, we often try to prove our worth because we fear not being recognized.
직장에서는 인정받지 못할까 두려워 자신을 계속 증명하려 애쓸 때가 있습니다.
As a result, we are shaken by small evaluations and become exhausted through comparison.
그래서 작은 평가에도 흔들리고 비교 속에서 지치게 됩니다.
But those who are in Jesus do not try to prove their value through performance.
그러나 예수님 안에 있는 사람은 자신의 가치를 성과로 증명하려 하지 않습니다.
They faithfully carry out their work with the assurance that they are already loved and accepted by God.
이미 하나님께 사랑받고 받아들여진 존재라는 확신 속에서 맡겨진 일을 성실히 감당합니다.
The same is true in human relationships.
인간관계에서도 그렇습니다.
When we try to fill the emptiness of our hearts through people, we become shaken by even a small word and try hard to hold on to the relationship.
사람에게서 내 마음의 빈자리를 채우려 하면 작은 말에도 흔들리고 관계를 붙잡으려 애쓰게 됩니다.
But those who are in Jesus are already filled in God.
그러나 예수님 안에 있는 사람은 하나님 안에서 이미 채워진 사람입니다.
So instead of trying to hold on to others, they can treat them with love and wait patiently.
그래서 상대를 붙잡기보다 사랑으로 대하고 기다릴 수 있습니다.
The same is true in the family.
가정에서도 그렇습니다.
Sometimes we bring the future, which has not yet come, into the present and become weighed down with worry.
우리는 아직 오지 않은 미래까지 끌어와 걱정하며 마음이 무거워질 때가 있습니다.
But those who are in Jesus entrust things to God instead of trying to hold everything in their own hands.
그러나 예수님 안에 있는 사람은 모든 것을 붙잡으려 하기보다 하나님께 맡깁니다.
So even when the situation does not change, their hearts do not collapse.
그래서 상황이 바뀌지 않아도 마음이 무너지지 않습니다.
They remember how God has led them until now and live with gratitude.
하나님이 지금까지 인도하셨음을 기억하며 감사로 살아갈 수 있습니다.
This change does not begin with our own effort.
이 변화는 우리의 노력에서 시작되는 것이 아닙니다.
It begins when we enter into a relationship with God through Jesus, who is the Gate.
문 되신 예수님을 통하여 하나님과의 관계 안으로 들어갈 때 시작됩니다.
Jesus never changes, and His love is not shaken by our circumstances.
예수님은 변하지 않으시는 분이시며, 그 사랑은 상황에 따라 흔들리지 않습니다.
Those who are in Jesus are already accepted in their relationship with God.
예수님 안에 있는 사람은 하나님과의 관계 안에서 이미 받아들여진 존재입니다.
So they are not bound by conditions.
그래서 조건에 매이지 않습니다.
Because they trust God, they are not dragged around by anxiety.
하나님을 신뢰하기 때문에 불안에 끌려가지 않습니다.
Because they know God is with them, they live with gratitude even in lack.
하나님이 함께하심을 알기 때문에 부족함 속에서도 감사로 살아갑니다.
This is the abundant life Jesus gives.
이것이 바로 예수님께서 주시는 풍성한 생명입니다.
Therefore, today the Lord says to us,
그러므로 주님은 오늘 우리에게 이렇게 말씀하십니다.
“Come to Me.
“내게로 오너라.
Live in Me.
내 안에 거하여 살아라.
I will give you life, and I will make that life abundant.
내가 너에게 생명을 주고, 그 생명을 풍성하게 하겠다.
You are not alone.
너는 혼자가 아니다.
I will give you life, fill your life, and lead you to the end.”
내가 너를 살리고, 너의 삶을 채우며, 너를 끝까지 인도하겠다.”
