Scripture to Proclaim in the New Year
예레미야(Jeremiah) 31:7-14
사랑하는 성도 여러분, 새해가 되면 마음속에 두 가지 소리가 함께 들립니다.
Dear beloved congregation, when the new year comes, it can feel like two voices are speaking within our hearts.
“새해를 맞으면 ‘새롭게 살아 보자’는 소망이 생기지만, 동시에 ‘또 실패하면 어쩌지’ 하는 걱정도 올라옵니다.”
“As we welcome the new year, hope rises that says, ‘Let me live anew,’ yet at the same time a worry surfaces: ‘What if I fail again?’”
오늘 하나님은 그 두려움 앞에서 먼저 우리에게 노래하라고 하십니다.
Today, in front of that fear, God first tells us to sing.
회복이 아직 현실로 드러나지 않았어도, 하나님이 이미 구원의 역사를 움직이기 시작하셨기 때문입니다.Even if restoration has not yet become visible reality, it is because God has already set His saving work in motion.
그리고 하나님은 흩어진 우리를 모으시고, 지키시고, 슬픔을 기쁨으로 바꾸시겠다고 약속하십니다.
And God promises that He will gather us who are scattered, guard us, and turn our sorrow into joy.
그러니 오늘 우리는 새해의 첫 주일을 ‘내 결심’이 아니라 ‘하나님의 약속’ 위에 세워 보려 합니다.
So today, we will set the first Sunday of the new year not on “my determination,” but on “God’s promise.”
1.하나님이 흩어진 자녀들을 모으십니다(7–9)
God gathers His scattered children.
우리는 보통 상황이 좋아져야 찬양하려고 합니다.
We usually think we can praise only when our circumstances get better.
그런데 하나님은 다르게 말씀하십니다.
But God speaks differently.
“야곱을 위하여 즐거이 노래하라.”
“Sing with joy for Jacob.”
“만국의 머리로 말미암아 외치라.”
“Shout for the foremost of the nations.”
하나님은 회복이 아직 현실로 확인되지 않았는데도 노래하고 외치라고 하십니다.
Even though restoration has not yet been confirmed in our reality, He tells us to sing and to shout.
왜 하나님은 회복의 끝이 아니라, 회복의 시작에서 노래하라고 하실까요.
Why does God tell us to sing not at the end of restoration, but at the beginning of it?
그 이유는 하나님이 이미 구원을 시작하셨기 때문입니다.
It is because God has already begun His saving work.
찬양은 우리가 현실을 모르는 척하며 외면하는 소리가 아닙니다.Praise is not a sound that pretends not to know reality and turns away from it.
찬양은 하나님이 일하신다는 약속을 붙드는 믿음의 고백입니다.
Praise is a confession of faith that clings to God’s promise that He is at work.
그리고 예레미야는 이렇게 기도합니다. “여호와여, 주의 백성을 구원하소서.”
So Jeremiah prays, “Save your people, LORD.”
회복은 우리의 의지로 밀어붙이는 일이 아닙니다.
Restoration is not something we force through by our own willpower.
구원은 하나님께 “구원하소서”라고 기도하는 데서 시작됩니다.
Salvation begins when we pray to God, “Save us.”
그러므로 새해의 첫 걸음은 “제가 해 보겠습니다”가 아니라 “주님, 저를 붙들어 주세요”라는 기도로 시작해야 합니다.
Therefore, the first step of the new year should begin not with “I’ll try to do it,” but with the prayer, “Lord, hold me fast.”
무너진 것 같은 시대에도 하나님은 남아 있는 사람들을 보십니다.
Even in a time that feels like everything has collapsed, God sees those who remain.
그 남은 자는 대단한 사람들이 아닙니다.
The remnant are not extraordinary people.
겨우 버티는 사람들입니다.
They are people who are barely hanging on.
어쩌면 상처를 품고도 숨만 쉬며 살아 있는 사람들입니다.
They may be people who carry wounds and are living one breath at a time.
그런데도 하나님은 그들을 “남았다”고 표현하십니다.
Yet God still describes them as “remaining.”
이는 아직 끝나지 않았다는 뜻입니다.That means it’s not over yet.
그리고 8절에서 하나님이 분명히 선언하십니다.
And in verse 8, God declares it clearly.
“보라, 내가 그들을 데리고 오리라.”
“See, I will bring them.”
돌아오는 일이 우리에게 달린 것 같지만, 사실은 하나님께 달려 있습니다.
It may feel like returning depends on us, but in truth it depends on God.
하나님이 데려오신다고 말씀하십니다.
He says He will bring them.
하나님이 모으신다고 약속하십니다.
He promises that He will gather them.
그러면 하나님은 어디에서 데려오신다고 하십니까?
Then from where does God say He will bring them?
“북쪽 땅”에서 데려오신다고 하십니다.
He says, “from the land of the north.”
또 “땅 끝”에서 모으신다고 하십니다.
And He says He will gather them “from the ends of the earth.”
이는 하나님께서 가장 돌아오기 어려운 자리에 있는 우리들조차도 포기하지 않으신다는 뜻입니다.This means that God will not give up on even those of us who are in the hardest places to return from.
우리가 “너무 멀리 왔다”고 느끼는 바로 그 자리까지, 하나님은 찾아오십니다.
God comes searching even to the very place where we feel, “I’ve gone too far.”
그리고 하나님은 돌아오는 무리의 모습을 자세히 그려 주십니다.And God paints a detailed picture of those who are returning.
그들 중에는 “눈먼 자”가 있습니다.
Among them are “the blind.”
“저는 자”가 있습니다.
There are “the lame.”
“임신한 자”가 있습니다.
There are “those with child.”
“해산하는 자”가 있습니다.
There are “those in labor.”
하나님은 왜 이렇게 약한 사람들을 굳이 열거하실까요.
Why does God deliberately list people who are so weak?
하나님의 회복은 강한 사람만의 행진이 아니기 때문입니다.
Because God’s restoration is not a march only for the strong.
하나님은 연약한 자들을 품으시고, 그들이 함께 돌아오게 하십니다.God embraces the weak and brings them back with Him.
이제 9절은 우리가 돌아올 때의 실제 모습을 보여 줍니다.Now verse 9 shows the real picture of what it looks like when we return.
“울며 돌아오리라.”
“They will come with weeping.”
돌아오는 길에는 눈물이 있습니다.
On the way back, there are tears.
그것은 후회의 눈물일 수 있습니다.
They may be tears of repentance.
상처의 눈물일 수 있습니다.
They may be tears of wounds.
잃어버린 시간의 눈물일 수 있습니다.
They may be tears over lost time.
그런데 이 눈물은 실패의 표시가 아닙니다.
But these tears are not a sign of failure.
하나님께로 돌아오고 있다는 표시입니다.
They are a sign that you are returning to God.
그들은 간구하며 돌아옵니다.They return, crying out to God.
눈물은 기도를 막지 못합니다.
Tears do not block prayer.
오히려 눈물이 기도를 더 진실하게 만듭니다.
Rather, tears can make prayer more honest.
하나님은 눈물 섞인 간구를 붙드셔서 길이 되게 하십니다.
God takes tearful pleading and turns it into a path forward.
하나님은 그들을 “시냇가로” 인도하십니다.God leads them “beside streams of water.”
메마른 길에 마실 물을 주시겠다는 뜻입니다.
It means He will give water to drink on a dry road.
눈물이 마를 만큼 지친 사람에게 하나님이 쉼과 회복을 주시겠다는 뜻입니다.
It means God will give rest and restoration to those exhausted to the point their tears have run dry.
또 하나님은 우리를 곧은 길로 인도하시고, 넘어지지 않게 하시겠다고 말씀하십니다.And God says He will lead us on a straight path and keep us from stumbling.
돌아오는 사람이 가장 두려워하는 것이 무엇입니까?What do we fear most when we try to come back?
“또 넘어질까” 염려하는 것입니다.
It is the worry, “What if I fall again?”
하나님은 우리의 두려움을 아시고 “넘어지지 않게 하겠다”고 약속하십니다.God knows our fear and promises, “I will keep you from stumbling.”
마지막으로 하나님은 이 회복이 가능한 근거를 말씀하십니다.Finally, God tells us what makes this restoration possible.
“나는 이스라엘의 아버지라.”
“I am Israel’s father.”
회복의 근거는 우리의 실력이 아니라 하나님의 약속입니다.The basis of restoration is not our ability, but God’s promise.
그리고 하나님은 이렇게까지 선언하십니다 — “에브라임은 나의 장자니라.”And He goes even further and declares, “Ephraim is my firstborn son.”
여기서 에브라임은 “멀어졌던 자녀”를 대표하는 이름입니다.
Here, Ephraim is a name representing a child who had wandered far away.
그런데 하나님은 여전히 에브라임을 “장자”라고 부르십니다.
Yet God still calls Ephraim “my firstborn.”
하나님은 돌아오는 자의 신분을 먼저 회복시키고 다시 세워 주십니다.
God first restores the identity of the one returning and sets them up again.
돌아오는 자의 지난 과오를 정죄하지 않으십니다.
He does not condemn the returning person for their past failures.
오히려 “내 자녀”라고 부르시며 세우십니다.
Rather, He raises them up by calling them, “My child.”
새해를 맞아도 우리 마음이 흩어져 예배와 기도에서 멀어진 채 살아갈 수 있습니다.Even as we welcome the new year, our hearts may feel scattered, drifting far from worship and prayer.
어떤 사람에게는 교회 안의 상처가 믿음의 발걸음을 멈추게 했을지도 모릅니다.
For some, wounds within the church may have brought their steps of faith to a halt.
그럴 때 하나님은 우리에게 먼저 이렇게 요청하십니다.
At such a time, God first asks this of us.
“노래하라.”
“Sing.”
이는 “상처가 다 아물어서가 아닙니다.”
This is not “because all the wounds have healed.”
“문제가 다 해결돼서가 아닙니다.”
It is not “because every problem has been solved.”
“하나님이 우리를 부르시기 때문입니다.”
It is because God is calling us.
“하나님이 ‘내가 데리고 오겠다’고 시작하셨기 때문입니다.”
It is because God has already begun by saying, “I will bring you.”
그리고 하나님은 이렇게 기도하라 하십니다.
And God tells us to pray like this.
“아버지, 우리를 붙들어 주세요.”“Father, hold us and keep us.”
새해의 결단은 거창하지 않아도 됩니다.
Your new year’s resolution does not have to be grand.
이 한 문장이면 됩니다.
This one sentence is enough.
“주님, 저를 구해 주세요.”
“Lord, save me.”
“주님, 저를 데려가 주세요.”
“Lord, bring me back.”
하나님은 “울며 돌아오는” 길을 이미 말씀하셨습니다.
God has already spoken of the road of “returning with weeping.”
하나님은 그 눈물을 기도로 바꾸십니다.
God turns those tears into prayer.
그러므로 오늘 새해 첫 주일에 우리가 붙들 선포는 이것입니다.
Therefore, on this first Sunday of the new year, this is the proclamation we will hold onto.
한 번 따라해 보시기 바랍니다.
Please repeat after me.
하나님이 우리를 데리고 오십니다.
God brings us back.
하나님이 우리를 모으십니다.
God gathers us.
하나님이 우리를 넘어지지 않게 하십니다.
God keeps us from stumbling.
왜냐하면, 하나님은 아버지이시기 때문입니다.*
Because God is our Father.
2. 하나님은 우리를 구원하시고 시온에서 찬송하게 하십니다.(10-12)
God saves us and makes us praise Him in Zion.
우리가 대지1에서 붙든 핵심이 무엇이었습니까.
What was the key truth we held onto in Point 1?
하나님이 흩어진 자녀를 데리고 오신다는 약속이었습니다.
It was God’s promise that He would bring back His scattered children.
그 약속이 10절에서 한층 더 분명하게 선포됩니다.
That promise is proclaimed even more clearly in verse 10.
이번에는 하나님이 우리만 보게 하지 않으시고 열방도 함께 듣게 하십니다.
This time, God does not let only us hear it, but makes the nations hear it too.
“열방아, 여호와의 말을 들으라.”
“Hear the word of the LORD, O nations.”
“멀리 있는 섬들아 전파하라.”
“Proclaim it in distant coastlands.”
하나님은 회복의 소식을 교회 안에만 두지 않으십니다.
God does not keep the news of restoration only inside the church.
하나님이 하신 일을 세상에 알리라고 하십니다.
He tells us to make known to the world what He has done.
왜 하나님은 “열방”과 “섬들”까지 불러 세우십니까?
Why does God call even “the nations” and “the coastlands” to attention?
하나님이 하시는 구원은 숨겨진 이야기가 아니라, 드러나야 할 복음이기 때문입니다.
Because God’s salvation is not a hidden story, but good news that must be made known.
하나님의 구원은 한 사람의 감동으로 끝나지 않습니다.
God’s salvation does not end with one person’s private inspiration.
온 세상이 알아야 할 소식입니다.
It is news the whole world must hear.
내가 잘났다는 이야기가 아니라, 하나님이 어떤 분이신지 전하는 것입니다.
Not a story about how great I am, but a witness to who God is.
하나님은 10절에서 스스로를 이렇게 소개하십니다.
In verse 10, God introduces Himself like this.
“이스라엘을 흩으신 이가 그를 모으시리라.”
“He who scattered Israel will gather them.”
흩어짐조차도 하나님께서 모르셨던 일이 아니었다는 뜻입니다.
It means even the scattering was not something outside God’s knowledge or control.
그러나 더 놀라운 것은 그 다음입니다.
But what follows is even more astonishing.
흩으신 분이 다시 모으신다는 것입니다.
The One who scattered is the One who gathers again.
심판의 하나님이 바로 회복의 하나님이라는 뜻입니다.
It means the God of judgment is also the God of restoration.
끝내시는 하나님이 아니라 다시 세우시는 하나님이십니다.
He is not the God who finishes us off, but the God who raises us up again.
그리고 하나님은 무엇을 약속하십니까.
And what does God promise?
“목자가 양 떼를 지킴 같이 지키시리로다.”
“He will watch over his flock like a shepherd.”
목자는 양을 앞에서 이끕니다.
A shepherd leads the sheep from the front.
양이 길을 모르면 목자가 길이 되어 줍니다.
When the sheep do not know the way, the shepherd becomes the way.
양이 위험을 만나면 목자가 막아 줍니다.
When the sheep face danger, the shepherd stands in the way and protects them.
하나님이 바로 그렇게 하신다는 뜻입니다.
That is what God says He will do.
우리가 새해에 가장 두려워하는 것이 무엇입니까.
What is it that we fear most in the new year?
다시 시작했다가 또 무너질까 봐 두려워합니다.
We fear starting again only to fall apart again.
하나님은 그 두려움 앞에 “내가 지키겠다.”라고 말씀하십니다.
In front of that fear, God says, “I will watch over you.”
그러니까 우리는 하나님이 지키실 것을 믿고 시작하면 됩니다.
So we can begin by trusting that God will keep us.
11절로 가면, 하나님은 구원이 무엇인지 더 분명히 보여 주십니다.
When we come to verse 11, God shows more clearly what salvation is.
“여호와께서 야곱을 구원하시되.”
“For the LORD will deliver Jacob.”
하나님은 우리를 “그보다 강한 자의 손에서” 속량하신다고 하십니다.
God says He will redeem us “from the hand of those stronger than they.”
여기서 “강한 자”는 단지 사람만이 아닙니다.
Here, “those stronger” are not only people.
죄의 힘일 수 있습니다.
It may be the power of sin.
두려움의 힘일 수 있습니다.
It may be the power of fear.
중독의 힘일 수 있습니다.
It may be the power of addiction.
상처가 만들어 낸 묶임일 수 있습니다.
It may be the bondage produced by deep wounds.
우리가 스스로 못 끊는 사슬이 있을 수 있습니다.
There may be chains we cannot break by ourselves.
그런데 하나님이 “속량하신다”라고 하십니다.
But God says, “I will redeem.”
하나님이 값을 치르고라도 우리를 건져내신다는 뜻입니다.
It means God will rescue us even at a cost.
이게 복음입니다.
This is the gospel.
예수님이 십자가에서 값을 치르셨기 때문에 우리는 자유할 수 있습니다.
Because Jesus paid the price on the cross, we can be set free.
그러면 이런 구원을 받은 사람들이 어디로 가게 됩니까.
Then where do those who have been saved go?
12절은 이렇게 말합니다.
Verse 12 says this.
“그들이 와서 시온의 높은 곳에서 찬송하며.”
“They will come and shout for joy on the heights of Zion.”
시온은 하나님이 임재하시는 곳을 상징합니다.
Zion symbolizes the place of God’s presence.
예배의 자리입니다.
It is the place of worship.
하나님은 우리를 단지 ‘개인적으로’ 위로만 하시는 분이 아닙니다.
God does not only comfort us “privately” as individuals.
하나님은 우리를 예배의 자리로 다시 모으십니다.
He gathers us again into the place of worship.
그리고 그 자리에서 찬송이 흘러넘치게 하십니다.And there, He makes praise overflow.
12절은 또 무엇 때문에 찬송하는지 구체적으로 열거합니다.
Verse 12 also lists specifically what they praise God for.
“여호와의 은사로 말미암아.”
“They will rejoice in the bounty of the LORD.”
이는 하나님이 주시는 선물 때문에 찬성한다는 뜻입니다.
It means they praise because of God’s gifts.
“곡식과 새 포도주와 기름.”
“The grain, the new wine and the oil.”
이는 하나님이 잔치처럼 풍성히 채우시는 은혜 때문에 찬송한다는 뜻입니다.It means they praise because God fills them with feast-like abundance.
“어린 양 떼와 소 떼.”
“The young of the flocks and herds.”
이는 하나님이 삶을 붙드시고 살 길을 열어 주시는 은혜 때문에 찬송한다는 뜻입니다.It means they praise because God sustains their lives and opens a way to live.
그리고 결론적인 표현으로 이렇게 말씀합니다.
And then the verse gives this concluding picture.
“그 심령은 물 댄 동산 같겠고.”
“They will be like a well-watered garden.”
여러분, 이 표현은 하나님이 주시는 회복이 어떤 모습인지 한눈에 보여 줍니다.
This phrase lets us see at a glance what God’s restoration looks like.
물댄 동산은 생명이 자라나는 곳입니다.It is a place where life grow
마음이 다시 푸르러지는 상태입니다.
It is a heart becoming green again.
기도가 다시 살아나는 상태입니다.
It is prayer coming alive again.
관계가 다시 회복될 가능성이 열리는 상태입니다.
It is the possibility of restored relationships opening again.
그리고 하나님은 마지막에 이렇게 약속하십니다.
And God gives this final promise.
“다시는 근심이 없으리로다.”
“They will sorrow no more.”
우리가 현실에서 근심이 전혀 없어지는 순간만을 말하는 것은 아닙니다.
This does not only mean a moment when there is no worry at all in our circumstances.
하나님께서 주시는 구원과 보호가 근심이 우리를 지배하지 못하게 한다는 뜻입니다.
It means God’s salvation and protection keep worry from ruling over us.
근심이 내 마음의 왕좌를 차지하지 못하게 한다는 뜻입니다.
It means worry cannot take the throne of our hearts.
새해를 맞아 우리가 가장 필요로 하는 것은
What we may need most as we enter the new year is this:
정답을 더 아는 것보다, 하나님 손에 붙들리는 것입니다
Not knowing more “answers,” but being held in God’s hands.
그런데, 미래가 불확실하니 우리의 마음이 흔들릴 때가 많습니다.
Yet because the future is uncertain, our hearts often shake.
그때 하나님은 말씀하십니다.
At that moment, God speaks.
“목자가 양 떼를 지킴 같이 지키겠다.”
“I will watch over you like a shepherd watches over his flock.”
그러니 우리는 혼자 지키려 애쓰지 말아야 합니다.
So we must not exhaust ourselves trying to protect everything alone.
하나님께 맡기고 먼저 그의 나라와 그의 의를 구해야 하겠습니다.
We should entrust ourselves to God and seek first his kingdom and his righteousness.
죄의 습관이 생각보다 강해서 쉽게 끊어지지 않을 수 있습니다.
Habits of sin can be stronger than we expected and not easily broken.
두려움도 마음을 꽉 붙잡아 놓을 수 있습니다.
Fear can also grip the heart tightly.
상처도 오래 남아 발걸음을 묶어 둘 수 있습니다.
Wounds can linger and bind our steps.
그럴 때 11절은 말합니다.
At such a time, verse 11 tells us:
“그보다 강한 자의 손에서 속량하신다.”
“He will redeem them from the hand of those stronger than they.”
우리를 붙잡고 있는 것이 강해 보여도, 하나님이 더 강하십니다.
Even if what holds us seems strong, God is stronger.
그리고 하나님은 값을 치르고라도 건져내십니다.
And God rescues us even at a cost.
하나님은 우리를 혼자 버티는 자리에서, 함께 찬송하는 자리로 부르십니다.
He calls us from a place of enduring alone to a place of praising together.
그러므로 오늘 우리가 붙들 선포는 이것입니다.
Therefore, this is the proclamation we will hold onto today.
함께 따라하실까요.
Shall we say it together?
하나님이 우리를 구원하십니다.
God saves us.
하나님이 우리를 지키십니다.
God watches over us.
하나님이 우리를 시온으로 모으셔서 찬송하게 하십니다.
God gathers us to Zion and causes us to praise.
하나님이 우리의 심령을 물 댄 동산같이 하십니다.
God makes our souls like a well-watered garden.
그 찬송이 순간의 감정으로 끝나지 않도록, 하나님은 우리의 슬픔을 기쁨으로 바꾸시겠다고 약속하십니다.*
So that this praise does not fade as a passing emotion, God promises to turn our sorrow into joy.
3.하나님이 슬픔을 기쁨으로 바꾸시고 복으로 만족하게 하십니다(13–14)
God turns sorrow into joy and satisfies us with His blessing.
대지2 끝에서 하나님이 어떤 약속을 주셨습니까.
At the end of Point 2, what promise did God give?
“다시는 근심이 없으리로다.”
“They will sorrow no more.”
이 약속은 마음을 달래는 말이 아니라, 하나님이 우리 삶을 실제로 바꾸시겠다는 선언입니다.
This promise is not just to soothe our feelings; it is God’s declaration that He will truly change our lives.
그리고 그 변화의 방향을 13절과 14절이 더 분명하게 보여 줍니다.
And verses 13 and 14 show the direction of that change even more clearly.
먼저 13절을 보겠습니다.
Let’s look first at verse 13.
하나님은 이렇게 말씀하십니다.
God says this:
“그때에 처녀는 춤추며 즐거워하겠고.”
“Then young women will dance and be glad.”
“젊은이와 늙은이가 함께 즐거워하리라.”
“Young men and old as well.”
여기에는 회복의 한 가지 특징이 있습니다.
Here is one distinct mark of restoration.
회복은 일부 사람만 기뻐하는 사건이 아니라는 것입니다.
Restoration is not an event where only a few people rejoice.
하나님이 회복을 주시면, 젊은이와 늙은이가 함께 웃는 자리가 됩니다.
When God gives restoration, it becomes a place where the young and the old smile together.
“내가 그들의 슬픔을 돌이켜 기쁨이 되게 하며.”
“I will turn their mourning into gladness.”
하나님은 기쁨이 어디서 오는지 원인을 분명히 말씀하십니다.
He clearly tells us where that joy comes from.
우리가 슬픔을 억지로 덮는다고 기쁨이 되는 것이 아닙니다.
Joy does not come by forcing ourselves to cover up sorrow.
“시간이 지나면 괜찮아지겠지” 해서 저절로 변하는 것도 아닙니다.
Nor does it automatically change just because time passes.
하나님이 “돌이키신다”고 하신 것은, 우리의 슬픔의 방향을 바꾸신다는 뜻입니다.When God says He will “turn” it, it means that He changes the direction of our mourning.
슬픔이 없던 일처럼 사라진다는 뜻은 아닙니다.It does not mean that our sorrow simply disappears as if it never happened.
슬픔의 자리에 하나님이 들어오신다는 뜻입니다.
It means God enters into the place of our sorrow.
그래서 하나님은 슬픔이 우리를 삼키지 못하게 하십니다.
It means He will not let sorrow swallow us up.
슬픔이 우리 인생의 끝이 아니라, 하나님 은혜의 시작이 되게 하신다는 뜻입니다.
It means our sorrow will not be the end of our story, but the beginning of God’s grace.
그러므로 하나님이 주시는 기쁨은 가벼운 웃음이 아닙니다.
Therefore, the joy God gives is not a shallow laugh.
눈물을 지나온 기쁨입니다.
It is joy that has passed through tears.
그래서 더 깊고 더 오래 갑니다.
That is why it runs deeper and lasts longer.
하나님은 또 “그들을 위로하겠다”고 말씀하십니다.
God also says, “I will comfort them.”
하나님의 위로는 다만 “힘내”라고 말하는 것에서 끝나지 않습니다.
God’s comfort does not end with simply saying, “Cheer up.”
위로는 하나님께서 우리 마음에 손을 얹으시고 상처를 만지시는 것입니다.
Comfort is God placing His hand upon our hearts and touching our wounds.
혼자 울던 자리에 함께 앉아 주시는 것입니다.
It is God sitting with us in the place where we once cried alone.
그리고 이어서 이렇게 말씀하십니다.
And He continues:
“그들의 근심을 기쁨으로 바꾸리라.”
“And give them joy instead of sorrow.”
근심이 완전히 사라질 때만 즐거운 것이 아닙니다.
Joy does not come only when sorrow completely disappears.
근심이 있어도 하나님 안에서 즐거움이 가능해진다는 뜻입니다.
It means even with sorrow present, joy becomes possible in God.
이제 14절로 가겠습니다.
Now let us go to verse 14.
하나님은 회복이 ‘마음’에서만 끝나지 않는다고 하십니다.
God shows that restoration does not end only in the “heart.”
하나님은 공동체의 삶까지 세우십니다.
He builds up the life of the community as well.
“내가 기름으로 제사장들의 심령에 흡족하게 하며.”
“I will satisfy the priests with abundance.”
제사장은 예배를 맡은 사람들입니다.
Priests are those entrusted with worship.
영적인 지도자들입니다.
They are spiritual leaders.
그들의 심령이 흡족해진다는 것은 무엇을 뜻합니까?
What does it mean that their souls are satisfied?
사역이 다시 살아난다는 뜻입니다.
It means ministry comes alive again.
예배가 다시 살아난다는 뜻입니다.
It means worship comes alive again.
지쳤던 마음이 다시 채워진다는 뜻입니다.
It means weary hearts are filled again.
그리고 하나님은 백성 전체를 향해 말씀하십니다.
And God speaks to the whole people:
“내 백성은 나의 복으로 만족하리라.”
“And my people will be filled with my bounty.”
하나님은 일시적인 복으로 끝내지 않으시고, 우리에게 참된 만족을 주십니다.
God does not stop with temporary blessings; He gives us true satisfaction.
세상은 더 가지라고 말합니다.
The world tells us to get more.
더 누리라고 말합니다.
It tells us to enjoy more.
그러나 많이 가져도 만족이 없을 수 있습니다.
But even with much, there can still be no satisfaction.
그러나 하나님의 복은 우리를 만족하게 합니다.
But God’s blessing satisfies us.
하나님 자신이 우리 마음의 빈자리를 채우시기 때문입니다.
Because God Himself fills the empty places in our hearts.
왜 하나님은 ‘복’만 말하지 않고 ‘만족’을 말씀하실까요.
Why does God speak not only of “blessing” but also of “being filled”?
복이 목적이 되면 우리는 다시 불안해지기 때문입니다.
Because if blessing becomes the goal, we become anxious again.
복이 우상이 되면 우리는 또 비교하고 또 흔들립니다.
If blessing becomes an idol, we compare again and we shake again.
그러나 하나님이 주시는 복은 우리를 하나님 품으로 이끌어 돌아오게 합니다.
But the blessing God gives leads us back into His embrace.
그래서 만족이 생깁니다.
And that is why satisfaction is born.
하나님이 우리를 채우심으로 주시는 평안과 충만함입니다.
It is the peace and fullness God gives as He fills us.
새해가 되었다고 해서 슬픔이 갑자기 사라지지는 않습니다.
Just because it is a new year does not mean sorrow suddenly disappears.
근심이 바로 없어지지도 않습니다.
Worry does not vanish overnight either.
어떤 분은 여전히 상실의 슬픔을 안고 계십니다.
Some of you still carry the sorrow of loss.
어떤 분은 여전히 관계의 상처를 품고 계십니다.
Some of you still carry wounds from relationships.
어떤 분은 여전히 죄책감과 두려움에 묶여 있습니다.
Some of you still feel bound by guilt and fear.
그런데 하나님은 우리에게 현실을 부정하라고 하지 않으십니다.
But God does not tell us to deny reality.
하나님은 현실 한가운데로 들어오셔서 이렇게 말씀하십니다.
He steps into the middle of our reality and says:
그러니 더는 혼자 붙들고 버티지 말고, 내게 맡겨라.
So do not keep holding it alone—entrust it to Me.
내가 너를 위로하겠다.
I will comfort you.
내가 네 슬픔을 돌이켜 기쁨이 되게 하겠다.
I will turn your mourning into joy.
내가 나의 복으로 너를 만족하게 하겠다.
I will satisfy you with My bounty.
내가 끝까지 너를 붙들겠다.
I will hold you fast to the very end.
그러므로 오늘 우리가 붙들 선포는 이것입니다.
Therefore, this is the proclamation we will hold onto today.
이 약속을 마음에 새기며 이렇게 고백합시다.
Let us engrave this promise on our hearts and confess it like this.
하나님이 우리의 슬픔을 기쁨으로 바꾸십니다.
God turns our sorrow into joy.
하나님이 우리를 위로하십니다.
God comforts us.
하나님이 그의 복으로 우리를 만족하게 하십니다.
God satisfies us with His blessing.
왜냐하면 하나님은 창조자요 구원자이시며, 우리를 끝까지 책임지시는 아버지이시기 때문입니다.
Because God is our Creator and Savior, and the Father who takes responsibility for us to the end.
오늘 말씀을 통해 우리는 한 가지를 분명히 보았습니다.
Through today’s Word, we have seen one thing clearly.
회복은 우리가 만들어 내는 결과가 아니라, 하나님이 시작하시고 이루시는 은혜입니다.
Restoration is not a result we produce, but grace that God begins and brings to completion.
하나님은 흩어진 우리를 데리고 시온으로 오셔서 구원의 노래를 부르게 하십니다.
God brings us, though scattered, to Zion and makes us sing a song of salvation.
하나님은 우리의 슬픔을 돌이켜 기쁨이 되게 하시고, 그의 복으로 만족하게 하십니다.
God turns our sorrow into joy and satisfies us with His blessing.
그러므로 새해의 길에서 두려움이 올라올 때마다 이렇게 고백합시다.
So whenever fear rises on the road of the new year, let us confess this.
“주님, 저를 구해 주세요. 저를 데려가 주세요. 저를 지켜 주세요.”
“Lord, save me. Bring me back. Keep me.”

Father God, thank You for letting us set the first steps of this new year not on our resolve, but on Your promise.
흩어진 우리를 데리고 오시고, 목자처럼 지키시며, 슬픔을 기쁨으로 바꾸시는 주님을 신뢰합니다.
We trust You, Lord, who gathers the scattered, watches over us like a shepherd, and turns sorrow into joy.
