교회소개(5: )내가 만일 왕의 목전에서 은혜를 입었고 왕이 내 소청을 허락하시며 내 요구를 시행하시기를 좋게 여기시면 내가 (왕과 하만)을 위하여 베푸는 잔치에 또 오소서 내일은 왕의 말씀대로 하리이다 하니라
If the king regards me with favor and if it pleases the king to grant my petition and fulfill my request, let (the king and Haman) come tomorrow to the banquet I will prepare for them. Then I will answer the king's question."
(5: )그의 아내 세레스와 모든 친구들이 이르되 높이가 오십 규빗 되는 나무를 세우고 내일 왕에게 모르드개를 (그 나무에 매달기를) 구하고 왕과 함께 즐거이 잔치에 가소서 하니 하만이 그 말을 좋게 여기고 명령하여 나무를 세우니라
His wife Zeresh and all his friends said to him, "Have a gallows built, seventy-five feet high, and ask the king in the morning to have Mordecai (hanged on it). Then go with the king to the dinner and be happy." This suggestion delighted Haman, and he had the gallows built.
(6: )그 왕복과 말을 왕의 신하 중 (가장 존귀한 자)의 손에 맡겨서 왕이 존귀하게 하시기를 원하시는 사람에게 옷을 입히고 말을 태워서 성 중 거리로 다니며 그 앞에서 반포하여 이르기를 왕이 존귀하게 하기를 원하시는 사람에게는 이같이 할 것이라 하게 하소서 하니라
Then let the robe and horse be entrusted to (one of the king's most noble princes). Let them robe the man the king delights to honor, and lead him on the horse through the city streets, proclaiming before him, 'This is what is done for the man the king delights to honor!'"
(7: )왕후 에스더가 대답하여 이르되 왕이여 내가 만일 왕의 목전에서 은혜를 입었으며 왕이 좋게 여기시면 내 소청대로 내 생명을 내게 주시고 내 요구대로 (내 민족을 내게 주소서)
Then Queen Esther answered, "If I have found favor with you, O king, and if it pleases your majesty, grant me my life--this is my petition. And (spare my people)--this is my request.
(7: )에스더가 이르되 (대적과 원수)는 이 악한 하만이니이다 하니 하만이 왕과 왕후 앞에서 두려워하거늘
Esther said, "(The adversary and enemy) is this vile Haman." Then Haman was terrified before the king and queen.
(8: )내가 어찌 내 민족이 화 당함을 차마 보며 (내 친척의 멸망함)을 차마 보리이까 하니
For how can I bear to see disaster fall on my people? How can I bear to see (the destruction of my family)?"
(8: )왕의 어명이 이르는 각 지방, 각 읍에서 유다인들이 즐기고 기뻐하여 잔치를 베풀고 그 날을 명절로 삼으니 본토 백성이 (유다인을 두려워하여) 유다인 되는 자가 많더라
In every province and in every city, wherever the edict of the king went, there was joy and gladness among the Jews, with feasting and celebrating. And many people of other nationalities became Jews (because fear of the Jews) had seized them.
