A Person under Grace
로마서(Romans 6:1-14)
Recently in the United States, a book called The Anxious Generation has received a great deal of attention.
최근 미국에서는 《The Anxious Generation》이라는 책이 많은 관심을 받고 있습니다.
In Korea, Yang Gui-ja’s novel Contradiction (Mousoon) has been loved by readers for many years.
한국에서는 양귀자의 소설 《모순》이 오랫동안 많은 독자들에게 사랑받고 있습니다.
I have not yet had the opportunity to read either of these books.
저도 아직 이 책들을 읽지 못했습니다.
However, I have thought about why so many people resonate with them.
다만 사람들이 왜 이런 책들에 공감하는지를 생각해 보았습니다.
One book speaks about the anxiety of modern people.
한 책은 현대인의 불안을 말합니다.
The other speaks about the contradictions of human life.
다른 책은 인간 삶의 모순을 말합니다.
But the Bible has long spoken of a deeper problem within humanity.
그런데 성경은 오래전부터 인간의 더 깊은 문제를 말씀합니다.
It is life under the power of sin.
그것은 죄 아래 있는 삶입니다.
People under sin long for freedom, yet they become anxious.
죄 아래 있는 사람은 자유를 원하지만 불안해지고,
They desire happiness, yet they live amid contradiction.
행복을 원하지만 모순 속에 살아갑니다.
But those who are under grace are different.
그러나 은혜 아래 있는 사람은 다릅니다.
God’s grace rescues us from sin, gives us a new identity, and leads us into a life devoted to God.
하나님의 은혜는 우리를 죄에서 건져내고, 새로운 신분을 주며, 하나님께 드려진 삶으로 이끌어 갑니다.
In today’s passage, Paul shows us how the life of a person under grace is transformed.
오늘 본문에서 바울은 은혜 아래에 있는 사람의 삶이 어떻게 달라지는지를 보여 줍니다.
1. Those Who Are Under Grace Cannot Remain in Sin. (1–4)
1. 은혜 아래에 있는 사람은 죄 가운데 머물 수 없습니다. (1-4)
In Romans 5, Paul declared, “Where sin increased, grace increased all the more.”
바울은 로마서 5장에서 “죄가 더한 곳에 은혜가 더욱 넘쳤다”고 말씀했습니다.
As a result, some people might have reasoned this way:
그러자 어떤 사람들은 이렇게 생각할 수 있었습니다.
“If that is true, should we keep on sinning so that we may receive more grace?”
“그렇다면 은혜를 더 받기 위해 죄를 더 지어도 되는 것 아닌가?”
Paul responds with a firm and unmistakable answer.
이에 대해 바울은 단호하게 대답합니다.
“By no means!” (Romans 6:2)
“그럴 수 없느니라.” (롬 6:2)
Why is that impossible?
왜 그럴 수 없습니까?
Because grace is not permission to continue in sin; it is God’s power to rescue us from sin.
은혜는 죄를 계속 지어도 된다는 허락이 아니라, 죄에서 우리를 건져내는 하나님의 능력이기 때문입니다.
The Bible teaches that sin is more than committing a few bad actions.
성경이 말하는 죄는 단순히 나쁜 행동 몇 가지가 아닙니다.
In Romans 1, Paul explains the beginning of sin in this way:
로마서 1장에서 바울은 죄의 시작을 이렇게 설명합니다.
“They did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God.” (Romans 1:28)
“하나님을 마음에 두기 싫어하매.” (롬 1:28)
The essence of sin is the desire to live without God.
죄의 본질은 하나님 없이 살아가려는 것입니다.
It is trusting our own thoughts more than God, placing our will above His will, and believing that we can find happiness apart from Him.
하나님보다 내 생각을 더 믿고, 하나님의 뜻보다 내 뜻을 앞세우며, 하나님 없이도 행복할 수 있다고 생각하는 것입니다.
Therefore, sin is not merely a behavioral problem; it is first a relational problem.
그래서 죄는 행동의 문제이기 전에 관계의 문제입니다.
It is a condition of separation from God.
하나님을 떠난 상태입니다.
The reason those who are under grace cannot remain in sin is that they have come to know how miserable life without God truly is.
은혜 아래 있는 사람이 죄 가운데 머물 수 없는 이유는 하나님 없이 살아가는 삶이 얼마나 불행한지를 알기 때문입니다.
Freedom apart from God ultimately becomes wandering.
하나님을 떠난 자유는 결국 방황이 되고,
Life apart from God eventually leads to anxiety and emptiness.
하나님을 떠난 삶은 결국 불안과 공허함으로 이어집니다.
Just as a person who has suffered from a serious illness, undergone surgery, and recovered does not want to return to that disease, those who have experienced God’s grace do not want to return to a life without God.
큰 병을 앓다가 수술을 받고 회복한 사람이 다시 그 병으로 돌아가고 싶어 하지 않는 것처럼, 은혜를 경험한 사람은 하나님 없이 살아가는 삶으로 돌아가고 싶어 하지 않습니다.
They know that living apart from God is the root of all sin, and that sin ultimately destroys ourselves, our families, and our relationships.
그들은 하나님 없이 살아가는 삶이 모든 죄의 뿌리이며, 그 죄가 결국 우리 자신과 가정과 관계를 무너뜨린다는 것을 알기 때문입니다.
But Paul takes this truth one step further.
그런데 바울은 여기서 한 걸음 더 나아갑니다.
He does not explain our inability to remain in sin based on our determination or willpower.
바울은 우리가 죄 가운데 머물 수 없는 이유를 우리의 결심이나 의지에서 찾지 않습니다.
Instead, he points to the One with whom we have been united.
우리가 누구와 연합되었는지를 말합니다.
“Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?” (Romans 6:3)
“무릇 그리스도 예수와 합하여 세례를 받은 우리는 그의 죽으심과 합하여 세례를 받은 줄을 알지 못하느냐.” (롬 6:3)
Baptism is not merely a religious ceremony.
세례는 단순한 의식이 아닙니다.
It is the sign that we have been united with Jesus Christ.
예수님과 연합되었다는 표지입니다.
It is our confession that His death became our death and His resurrection became our resurrection.
예수님의 죽으심이 나의 죽음이 되고, 예수님의 부활이 나의 부활이 되었다는 고백입니다.
Therefore, Paul says that we were buried with Christ.
그래서 바울은 우리가 그리스도와 함께 장사되었다고 말합니다.
This means that our old life, lived apart from God, has come to an end.
이것은 하나님 없이 살아가던 옛 삶이 끝났다는 뜻입니다.
It means that the life of serving sin as our master has ended.
죄를 주인으로 섬기며 살던 삶이 끝났다는 뜻입니다.
And then Paul declares:
그리고 바울은 이렇게 말씀합니다.
“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” (Romans 6:4)
“이는 아버지의 영광으로 말미암아 그리스도를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리심과 같이 우리로 또한 새 생명 가운데서 행하게 하려 함이라.” (롬 6:4)
Just as Jesus was raised from the dead, we too have been given a new life to live.
예수님께서 부활하신 것처럼 우리도 새로운 삶을 살게 되었습니다.
We are no longer people who live apart from God.
이제 우리는 하나님을 떠나 살아가는 사람이 아닙니다.
We are people who live with God.
하나님과 함께 살아가는 사람입니다.
That is why the angel instructed that His name be called “Jesus.”
그래서 천사는 예수님의 이름을 “예수”라고 부르라고 했습니다.
For He would “save His people from their sins.”
이는 “자기 백성을 그들의 죄에서 구원할 자”라는 뜻입니다.
And He was also called “Immanuel.”
그리고 그분은 “임마누엘”이라고도 불리셨습니다.
Which means, “God with us.”
이는 “하나님이 우리와 함께 계시다”는 뜻입니다.
If sin is separation from God, then salvation is returning to God.
죄가 하나님을 떠난 상태라면, 구원은 하나님께로 돌아오는 것입니다.
If sin is living without God, then salvation is living with God.
죄가 하나님 없이 살아가는 것이라면, 구원은 하나님과 함께 살아가는 것입니다.
Jesus not only rescued us from sin, but also restored us to a life of fellowship with God.
예수님은 우리를 죄에서 건져내셨을 뿐 아니라 하나님과 다시 함께 살아가게 하셨습니다.
Therefore, a person under grace is not a perfect person.
그러므로 은혜 아래 있는 사람은 완벽한 사람이 아닙니다.
We may stumble and make mistakes.
넘어질 수도 있고 실수할 수도 있습니다.
But we cannot remain in a place that is far from God.
그러나 하나님을 떠난 자리에 머물 수는 없습니다.
Because we have come to know the misery of life without Him.
왜냐하면 하나님 없이 사는 삶의 비참함을 알기 때문입니다.
And we also know how great the blessing is of living with God through Jesus Christ.
또한 예수 그리스도를 통해 하나님과 함께하는 삶의 은혜가 얼마나 큰지를 알기 때문입니다.
Today, God speaks to us.
하나님께서 오늘 우리에게 말씀하십니다.
“I will not leave you in your sin.”
“내가 너를 죄 가운데 버려두지 않겠다.”
“I will call you back to Myself.”
“내가 너를 다시 내게로 부르겠다.”
“Do not be afraid. Return to Me.”
“두려워하지 말고 내게로 돌아오라.”
“I am not seeking to condemn you, but to restore you.”
“나는 너를 정죄하려는 것이 아니라 회복시키려 한다.”
Therefore, let us never take sin lightly.
그러므로 우리는 죄를 가볍게 여기지 맙시다.
But neither should we despair because of our sin.
그러나 죄 때문에 절망하지도 맙시다.
Those who are under grace may stumble, but they do not remain far from God.
은혜 아래 있는 사람은 넘어질 수는 있어도 하나님을 떠난 자리에 머물지 않습니다.
They return to the Word.
말씀 앞으로 돌아오고,
They return to the place of prayer.
기도의 자리로 돌아오고,
They return to the embrace of grace.
은혜의 품으로 돌아옵니다.
May we all live with God in the grace of Immanuel.
우리 모두 임마누엘의 은혜 안에서 하나님과 함께 살아가는 성도들이 되기를 바랍니다.
May this be true for each of us in the name of the Lord.
주님의 이름으로 축원합니다.
2. Those Who Are Under Grace Consider Themselves Dead to Sin and Alive to God. (5–11)
2. 은혜 아래에 있는 사람은 자신을 죄에 대하여 죽고 하나님께 대하여 산 자로 여깁니다. (5-11)
In verses 1–4, Paul explained that we have died with Christ and have been raised with Him.
바울은 1-4절에서 우리가 그리스도와 함께 죽고 함께 살아난 사람이라고 설명했습니다.
Now, in verses 5–11, he teaches us how we should understand and live in light of that truth.
이제 5-11절에서는 그 사실을 어떻게 받아들이고 살아야 하는지를 말씀합니다.
Paul first explains what happened to us in the past.
바울은 먼저 우리의 과거에 어떤 일이 일어났는지를 설명합니다.
“For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin.” (Romans 6:6)
“우리가 알거니와 우리의 옛 사람이 예수와 함께 십자가에 못 박힌 것은 죄의 몸이 죽어 다시는 우리가 죄에게 종 노릇 하지 아니하려 함이니.” (롬 6:6)
Here Paul says that our “old self” was crucified with Christ.
여기서 바울은 우리의 "옛 사람"이 그리스도와 함께 십자가에 못 박혔다고 말합니다.
The old self refers to who we once were before Christ, as described in Ephesians 2.
옛 사람이란 에베소서 2장의 표현처럼, 허물과 죄로 죽었던 우리의 옛 모습입니다.
It was a life lived according to the ways of this world.
세상의 흐름을 따라 살고,
A life influenced by the ruler of the kingdom of the air.
공중 권세 잡은 자의 영향 아래 끌려가며,
A life driven by the desires of the flesh and the mind.
육체와 마음이 원하는 대로 살아가던 삶입니다.
Outwardly it appeared to be freedom.
겉으로는 자유롭게 사는 것 같았지만,
But in reality it was a life enslaved to sin and selfish desires.
실제로는 죄와 욕심에 붙들려 있던 삶입니다.
Paul says that this old self was crucified with Christ.
바울은 바로 그 옛 사람이 그리스도와 함께 십자가에 못 박혔다고 말합니다.
When Jesus was nailed to the cross, our old self was nailed there with Him.
예수님께서 십자가에 달리셨을 때 우리의 옛 사람도 함께 십자가에 못 박혔다는 것입니다.
The purpose is very clear.
그 목적은 분명합니다.
“That we should no longer be slaves to sin.”
"다시는 죄에게 종 노릇 하지 아니하려 함이라."
Jesus died to set us free from our slavery to sin.
예수님은 죄의 종이었던 우리를 자유롭게 하시기 위해 죽으셨습니다.
Paul continues by saying,
바울은 이어서 말합니다.
“If we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.” (Romans 6:8)
“만일 우리가 그리스도와 함께 죽었으면 또한 그와 함께 살 줄을 믿노니.” (롬 6:8)
Jesus’ death was not the end.
예수님의 죽음은 끝이 아니었습니다.
There was resurrection.
부활이 있었습니다.
Likewise, those who have died with Christ are also those who live with Christ.
마찬가지로 그리스도와 함께 죽은 사람은 그리스도와 함께 살아가는 사람입니다.
The goal of the Christian life is not merely to escape sin.
죄에서 벗어나는 것이 신앙의 목적이 아닙니다.
The goal of the Christian life is to live with God.
하나님과 함께 살아가는 것이 신앙의 목적입니다.
Being dead to sin and alive to God are two sides of the same coin.
죄에 대하여 죽는 것과 하나님께 대하여 사는 것은 동전의 양면과 같습니다.
If our old life apart from God has ended, then a new life with God must begin.
하나님 없이 살아가던 삶이 끝났다면 이제 하나님과 함께 살아가는 삶이 시작되어야 합니다.
Therefore, Paul gives an important command in verse 11.
그래서 바울은 11절에서 중요한 명령을 줍니다.
“In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.”
“이와 같이 너희도 너희 자신을 죄에 대하여는 죽은 자요 그리스도 예수 안에서 하나님께 대하여는 살아 있는 자로 여길지어다.”
The phrase “count yourselves” is very important.
여기서 "여길지어다"는 말이 중요합니다.
It means to accept by faith what God has already accomplished.
이 말은 하나님께서 이미 이루신 사실을 믿음으로 받아들이라는 뜻입니다.
We often evaluate ourselves based on our feelings.
우리는 종종 자신의 감정을 기준으로 자신을 판단합니다.
When we fail, we feel as though God has abandoned us.
실패하면 하나님께 버림받은 것처럼 느낍니다.
When we stumble in our struggle against sin, we feel as though nothing has changed.
죄와 싸우다 넘어지면 아무것도 변하지 않은 것처럼 느껴집니다.
When prayer becomes difficult, we feel as though we have no faith.
기도가 잘되지 않으면 믿음이 없는 사람처럼 느껴집니다.
But Paul tells us to view ourselves not through our feelings, but through the truth of God’s Word.
그러나 바울은 우리의 느낌이 아니라 하나님의 말씀을 기준으로 자신을 바라보라고 말합니다.
Think of a patient who has undergone major surgery.
예를 들어 큰 수술을 받은 환자를 생각해 보십시오.
The operation has already been completed.
수술은 이미 끝났습니다.
The source of the disease has been removed.
병의 원인은 제거되었습니다.
Yet the patient may still think of himself as sick and be afraid to get up.
그런데 환자는 여전히 아픈 사람처럼 생각하며 일어나기를 두려워할 수 있습니다.
The doctor says,
의사는 말합니다.
“Now get up.”
"이제 일어나십시오."
“Now walk.”
"이제 걸으십시오."
“The disease has been removed. You can begin a new life.”
"병은 제거되었습니다. 이제 새 삶을 시작할 수 있습니다."
The Christian life is much the same.
신앙도 마찬가지입니다.
Through His death and resurrection, Jesus has already broken the power of sin.
예수님께서는 이미 십자가와 부활로 죄의 권세를 깨뜨리셨습니다.
We are people who now live in the victory that has already been won for us.
우리는 이미 주어진 승리 안에서 살아가는 사람들입니다.
That is why Paul says, “Count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God.”
그래서 바울은 "너희 자신을 죄에 대하여 죽은 자요 하나님께 대하여 살아 있는 자로 여기라"고 말하는 것입니다.
We often focus on our past failures.
우리는 자주 과거의 실패를 바라봅니다.
We dwell on memories of falling and stumbling.
넘어졌던 기억을 바라봅니다.
We see only our present weaknesses.
연약한 현재의 모습만 바라봅니다.
But today God speaks to us.
그러나 하나님께서는 오늘 우리에게 말씀하십니다.
“You are no longer a slave to sin.”
“너는 더 이상 죄의 종이 아니다.”
“I have washed you by the blood of My Son.”
“나는 너를 내 아들의 피로 씻었다.”
“You are My child, living in fellowship with Me.”
“너는 나와 함께 살아가는 나의 자녀다.”
“Do not remain in the past. Walk in the new life I have given you.”
“과거에 머물지 말고 내가 준 새 생명 가운데 걸어가라.”
Therefore, let us no longer think of ourselves as slaves to sin.
그러므로 우리는 자신을 죄의 종으로 여기지 맙시다.
Let us not define ourselves by our past failures.
과거의 실패로 자신을 규정하지 맙시다.
Instead, let us see ourselves as God sees us and confess His truth.
하나님께서 말씀하신 대로 자신을 바라보며 이렇게 고백합시다.
It would be good for us to say these words together.
함께 따라해 보시면 좋겠습니다.
“I am dead to sin.”
“나는 죄에 대하여 죽은 자다.”
“I am a person who lives with God.”
“나는 하나님과 함께 살아가는 사람이다.”
“I am God’s child who has received new life in Christ.”
“나는 그리스도 안에서 새 생명을 받은 하나님의 자녀이다.”
May we all walk with God day by day in this faith.
우리 모두 이 믿음 안에서 날마다 하나님과 동행하며 살아가시기를 바랍니다.
May this be true for each of us in the name of the Lord.
주님의 이름으로 축원합니다.
3. Those Who Are Under Grace Offer Their Members to God as Instruments of Righteousness. (12–14)
3. 은혜 아래에 있는 사람은 자신의 지체를 의의 무기로 하나님께 드립니다. (12-14)
Paul now explains how those who are under grace actually live.
바울은 이제 은혜 아래 있는 사람이 실제로 어떻게 살아가는지를 설명합니다.
Those who are under grace do not remain in sin.
은혜 아래 있는 사람은 죄 가운데 머물지 않습니다.
Those who are under grace consider themselves dead to sin and alive to God.
은혜 아래 있는 사람은 자신을 죄에 대하여 죽고 하나님과 함께 살아가는 사람으로 여깁니다.
And that faith must be expressed in daily life.
그리고 그 믿음은 반드시 삶으로 나타납니다.
Therefore, Paul says,
그래서 바울은 말합니다.
“Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God... and offer every part of yourself to Him as an instrument of righteousness.” (Romans 6:13)
"너희 지체를 불의의 무기로 죄에게 내주지 말고 ... 너희 지체를 의의 무기로 하나님께 드리라." (롬 6:13)
Here, “members” refers to our eyes and ears, our lips and hands, our time and talents, and indeed our entire lives.
여기서 지체는 우리의 눈과 귀, 입술과 손, 시간과 재능, 삶 전체를 의미합니다.
Grace changes not only our identity but also the purpose of our lives.
은혜는 우리의 신분만 바꾸는 것이 아니라 삶의 목적도 바꾸어 놓습니다.
Every person offers his or her life to something.
사람은 누구나 자신의 삶을 어디엔가 드리며 살아갑니다.
Some live for money.
돈을 위해 살아가는 사람도 있고,
Some live for success.
성공을 위해 살아가는 사람도 있고,
Some live for personal satisfaction.
자기 만족을 위해 살아가는 사람도 있습니다.
But those who are under grace offer their lives to God.
그러나 은혜 아래 있는 사람은 자신의 삶을 하나님께 드립니다.
And God uses such lives as instruments of righteousness.
그리고 하나님께서는 그런 삶을 의의 무기로 사용하십니다.
Today is Father’s Day.
오늘은 Father's Day입니다.
Think about a good father.
좋은 아버지를 생각해 보십시오.
A good father is not merely someone who speaks good words to his children.
좋은 아버지는 자녀에게 말만 하는 사람이 아닙니다.
He gives of his time and strength.
자신의 시간과 힘을 내어줍니다.
He works for his family.
가족을 위해 일하고,
He sacrifices for his family.
가족을 위해 희생하고,
And he prays for his family.
가족을 위해 기도합니다.
Becoming a father means moving from a life lived for oneself to a life given for one's family.
아버지가 된다는 것은 자신만을 위해 살던 삶에서 가족을 위해 자신을 내어주는 삶으로 바뀌는 것을 의미합니다.
Some fathers leave for work before dawn.
어떤 아버지는 새벽부터 일터로 나갑니다.
Some fathers care for their children even when they are exhausted.
어떤 아버지는 피곤한 몸으로도 자녀를 돌봅니다.
Some fathers quietly carry their responsibilities for their families even when no one notices.
어떤 아버지는 아무도 알아주지 않아도 묵묵히 가족을 위해 책임을 감당합니다.
Why do they do this?
왜 그렇습니까?
Because they love their families.
사랑하기 때문입니다.
Love leads us to give ourselves for others.
사랑은 자신을 내어주게 만듭니다.
God calls us to live in the same way.
하나님께서도 우리를 그렇게 부르십니다.
Those who are under grace no longer live only for themselves.
은혜 아래 있는 사람은 더 이상 자기 자신만을 위해 살아가지 않습니다.
They offer themselves for the families God has entrusted to them.
하나님께서 맡기신 가정을 위해,
They offer themselves for the church.
교회를 위해,
They offer themselves for their neighbors.
이웃을 위해,
And they offer themselves for the gospel.
복음을 위해 자신을 드립니다.
They do not do this out of obligation.
억지로가 아닙니다.
They do it because they love God.
사랑하기 때문입니다.
They do it because they have received grace.
은혜를 받았기 때문입니다.
That is why Paul tells us to offer our members to God as instruments of righteousness.
그래서 바울은 우리에게 지체를 의의 무기로 하나님께 드리라고 말합니다.
Today God says to us,
하나님께서는 오늘 우리에게 말씀하십니다.
“Offer your life to Me.”
"네 삶을 내게 드리라."
“Offer your lips to Me.”
"네 입술을 내게 드리라."
“Offer your hands to Me.”
"네 손을 내게 드리라."
“Offer your time to Me.”
"네 시간을 내게 드리라."
“And through you I will build up and bless others.”
"내가 너를 통해 사람들을 세우고 축복하겠다."
And especially He speaks to the fathers of this world.
특별히 이 땅의 아버지들에게 말씀하십니다.
“Love your family.”
"가정을 사랑하라."
“Pray for your children.”
"자녀들을 위해 기도하라."
“Be an example of faith.”
"믿음의 본이 되라."
“And through your life I will strengthen your family.”
"내가 네 삶을 통해 가정을 세우겠다."
Those who are under grace do not simply stop at avoiding sin.
은혜 아래 있는 사람은 단순히 죄를 피하는 사람으로 끝나지 않습니다.
They become people who offer themselves to God.
하나님께 자신을 드리는 사람입니다.
And God uses such surrendered lives as instruments of righteousness.
그리고 하나님은 그렇게 드려진 삶을 의의 무기로 사용하십니다.
On this Father’s Day, may we all become believers who offer ourselves to God for the sake of our families, our church, and the world.
오늘 Father’s Day를 맞아 우리 모두가 가정과 교회와 세상을 위해 자신을 하나님께 드리는 성도들이 되기를 바랍니다.
May the Lord grant us this grace in His holy name.
주님의 이름으로 축원합니다.
Conclusion
말씀을 정리하겠습니다.
Sin is a life lived apart from God.
죄는 하나님을 떠난 삶입니다.
Grace is the power of God that brings us back to Him.
은혜는 우리를 하나님께로 돌아오게 하는 하나님의 능력입니다.
Therefore, those who are under grace cannot remain in sin.
그러므로 은혜 아래 있는 사람은 죄 가운데 머물 수 없습니다.
They consider themselves dead to sin and alive with God.

Gracious and loving Heavenly Father, we thank You for the Word You have given us today.
은혜가 풍성하신 하나님 아버지, 오늘 우리에게 주신 말씀을 감사드립니다.
Thank You for helping us see how empty and miserable life apart from You truly is, and for giving us the grace to live with You through Jesus Christ.
우리가 하나님을 떠난 삶이 얼마나 공허하고 불행한 삶인지를 깨닫게 하시고, 예수 그리스도를 통하여 하나님과 함께 살아가는 은혜를 주심을 감사드립니다.
Lord, do not allow us to remain in sin.
주님, 우리가 죄 가운데 머물지 않게 하여 주옵소서.
Whenever we fall, draw us back to You, and lead us again to Your Word and to prayer.
넘어질 때마다 다시 주님께 돌아오게 하시고, 말씀과 기도의 자리로 나아가게 하여 주옵소서.
You have called us not slaves of sin but children of God.
우리를 죄의 종이 아니라 하나님의 자녀로 부르셨사오니,
Help us to walk with You day by day.

Especially on this Father’s Day, we pray for the fathers of this world.

Help them love their families, be examples of faith, and pray faithfully for their children.

May all of us, as those who have received Your love, love both God and our neighbors.
