이사야 Isaiah 1:10-31
하나님께 예배드린다는 건,
To worship God
우리의 삶이 하나님께 향해 있다는 고백입니다.
is to declare that our lives belong to Him.
하지만 이사야 시대의 예배는
But in Isaiah’s time, worship
형식은 남고 마음은 사라졌습니다.
had form, but no heart.
백성들은 제사를 드렸지만,
The people offered sacrifices,
그들의 삶에는 불의와 거짓이 가득했습니다.
yet their lives were filled with injustice and deceit.
하나님은 그들에게 말씀하십니다.
God said to them,
“너희의 예배가 내게 무슨 유익이 있느냐.”
“What are your many sacrifices to Me?”
“너희의 기도가 많을지라도
“Even when you multiply your prayers,
내가 듣지 아니하리라.”
I will not listen.”
이 말씀은 우리를 향한 경고이기도 합니다.
These words are also a warning for us today.
예배가 우리의 삶과 분리될 때,
When worship is separated from life,
그 예배는 힘을 잃습니다.
it loses its power.
하나님은 오늘 우리에게 묻고 계십니다.
God is asking us today:
“너는 예배를 드리고 있느냐,
“Are you merely performing worship,
아니면 예배자로 살고 있느냐?”
or are you living as a worshiper?”
오늘 본문은 우리에게 세 가지를 보여줍니다.
Today’s passage shows us three things:
첫째는, 참된 예배의 모습입니다.
First, it is the life of true worship.
다음은, 주님을 닮아가는 길입니다.
Next, it is the path of becoming like the Lord.
마지막으로, 구속 사역에 동참하는 삶입니다.
Finally, it is the life that joins God’s work of redemption.
오늘 이 말씀을 통해
Through this message today,
우리의 예배가 다시 살아나고,
may our worship be renewed,
하나님의 마음이 우리의 삶 속에 새겨지기를 바랍니다.
and may His heart be written upon our lives.
- 하나님은 우리에게 참된 예배를 요청하십니다 / God Calls Us to True Worship(10-17)
하나님은 이사야를 통해 예루살렘 백성을 향해 말씀하십니다.
God speaks to the people of Jerusalem through Isaiah.
“너희의 예배는 내게 기쁨이 되지 않는다.”
“Your worship no longer brings Me joy.”
그들이 예배를 드리지 않아서가 아닙니다.
It wasn’t because they stopped worshiping.
예배 속에 마음이 없었기 때문입니다.
It was because their hearts were missing from their worship.
하나님은 형식적인 찬송과 제사를 원하지 않으십니다.
God does not desire empty songs and rituals.
그분이 찾으시는 예배자는
The worshiper God seeks
하나님의 마음을 닮아 이웃을 사랑하는 사람입니다.
is the one who loves others with God’s heart.
“너희는 스스로 씻으며 깨끗하게 하라.”
“Wash yourselves and be clean.”
“선을 배우며, 정의를 구하며, 학대받는 자를 도와주라.” (16–17절)
“Learn to do good, seek justice, and help the oppressed.” (vv.16–17)
하나님은 거룩한 예배가
God shows that holy worship
삶의 변화로 이어지기를 원하십니다.
must lead to a transformed life.
예배는 예배당 안에서 끝나는 행위가 아닙니다.
Worship does not end within these walls.
예배는 세상 속에서
Worship continues out there—
하나님의 마음을 실천하는 삶입니다.
as a life that lives out the heart of God.
한 아이가 있었습니다.
There was a little child.
그 아이는 매주 헌금 시간마다
Every offering time,
작은 동전 하나를 조심스럽게 봉투에 넣었습니다.
the child gently placed one small coin into the envelope.
어느 날 선생님이 물었습니다.
One day, the teacher asked,
“얘야, 네가 가진 돈이 많지 않을 텐데
‘You don’t have much money,’
왜 매주 이렇게 드리니?”
‘so why do you give every week?’
그 아이는 잠시 생각하더니
The child paused for a moment,
작은 목소리로 대답했습니다.
and answered softly,
“하나님은 제가 가진 게 적다는 걸 아세요.”
“God knows I don’t have much.”
“그런데 이걸로 누군가 밥을 먹을 수 있다면,
‘But if someone can eat with this,’
하나님도 기뻐하시지 않을까요?”
‘wouldn’t God be happy too?’
그 헌금은 크지 않았습니다.
The offering was not large.
하지만 그 아이의 마음 속엔
But inside that child’s heart
하나님의 사랑과 공의가 있었습니다.
was God’s love and justice.
자신의 작음을 드리되,
Though small in amount,
누군가의 배고픔을 생각한 마음—
it came from thinking of another’s hunger—
그것이 하나님이 원하시는 예배였습니다.
and that was the worship God desired.
이야기를 들은 교사와 어른들은
Those who heard the story
가슴이 뜨거워졌습니다.
felt their hearts grow warm.
그들은 깨달았습니다.
They realized:
예배란 결국 하나님의 마음으로 세상을 바라보는 것,
True worship is seeing the world through God’s heart,
그리고 그 마음으로
and with that heart,
작은 사랑을 행동으로 옮기는 것임을.
putting love into action.
오늘 우리의 예배도 마찬가지입니다.
It is the same with our worship today.
아무리 아름답게 찬양하고,
We may sing beautiful songs,
정성껏 예물을 드려도,
and offer our gifts with care,
누군가를 미워한 채 돌아선다면
but if we turn away holding hatred,
그 예배는 아직 완성되지 않았습니다.
our worship is not yet complete.
하나님은 이렇게 말씀하십니다.
God speaks to us:
“너의 손이 내 앞에 기도하기 전에,
“Before your hands are lifted in prayer,
그 손이 먼저 사랑으로 펴지기를 원한다.”
I want them first to open in love.”
참된 예배는 무릎을 꿇는 자세보다,
True worship is not just the posture of kneeling,
사랑으로 펴진 손에서 시작됩니다.
but begins with open hands of love.
하나님은 우리가 부르는 찬양보다
God values more than the songs we sing—
서로를 향한 따뜻한 손길을 기뻐하십니다.
He delights in the warmth we show one another.
예배는 노래가 아니라,
Worship is not a song,
사랑의 표현입니다.
it is an expression of love.
그 사랑이 손끝에서 흘러나올 때,
When that love flows through our hands,
그것이 하나님께 올려지는 향기로운 제사입니다.
it becomes a fragrant offering to God.
혹시 요즘 예배가 무겁게 느껴지시나요?
Has worship felt heavy lately?
찬양을 해도, 기도를 해도
Even when you sing and pray,
마음이 식은 것 같을 때가 있죠.
sometimes your heart feels cold.
하지만 하나님은 그런 우리를 멀리하지 않으십니다.
But God never turns away from you.
오히려 이렇게 부드럽게 말씀하십니다.
Instead, He whispers gently:
“나는 네가 드리는 노래보다,
“I value more than the song you sing,
네가 다른 사람에게 건넨 따뜻한 말 한마디를 더 귀하게 여긴다.”
the kind word you gave to someone.”
하나님은 지금도 우리의 마음을 깨우십니다.
God is awakening our hearts even now.
형식이 아니라 사랑으로 드리는 예배로
He calls us back
우리를 초대하십니다.
to worship filled with love, not formality.
예배는 노래가 아니라 사랑의 표현,
Worship is not a song but an act of love,
무릎 꿇은 자세보다 펼쳐진 손의 마음입니다.
and more than bowed knees, it is open hands of grace.
하나님은 형식적인 예배보다
God desires not formal worship,
마음이 담긴 예배를 원하십니다.
but worship that comes from the heart.
예배는 찬양과 헌금으로 끝나지 않습니다.
Worship does not end with songs or offerings.
사랑과 나눔으로 이어질 때,
When it leads to love and sharing,
비로소 완성됩니다.
it becomes complete.
우리의 작은 친절 하나가
A single act of kindness
하나님이 받으시는 큰 예배가 됩니다.
can become a great worship before God.
예배의 본질은 회복입니다.
The essence of worship is restoration.
하나님께 진심으로 나아올 때,
When we sincerely come before Him,
하나님은 우리를 새롭게 하십니다.
God makes us new again.
2. 주님 닮기를 힘써야 합니다 / We Must Strive to Reflect the Lord(18–23)
하나님은 죄로 물든 백성을 정죄하지 않으시고,
God does not condemn His people stained by sin,
부드럽게 초대하십니다.
but gently invites them.
“오라, 우리가 서로 변론하자.”
“Come now, let us reason together.”
“너희 죄가 주홍 같을지라도 눈과 같이 희어질 것이요,
“Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow,
진홍같이 붉을지라도 양털같이 되리라.” (18절)
though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.” (v.18)
하나님은 공의의 하나님이십니다.
God is a God of justice.
그러나 그 공의 안에는 언제나 사랑의 회복이 있습니다.
Yet within His justice is always the love of restoration.
공의 없는 사랑은 무책임하고,
Love without justice is careless,
사랑 없는 공의는 잔인합니다.
and justice without love is cruel.
하나님은 그 둘을 함께 가지신 분이십니다.
God holds both perfectly in His heart.
그러나 백성은 여전히 욕심과 불의에 사로잡혀 있었습니다.
But the people were still trapped in greed and injustice.
“신실하던 성읍이 어찌 창기가 되었는고.” (21절)
“How the faithful city has become a harlot!” (v.21)
하나님은 그들의 굳은 마음을 안타까워하시며 말씀하십니다.
God grieves their hardened hearts and says,
“나를 닮으라, 내 마음을 배우라.”
“Be like Me—learn My heart.”
이것이 주님 닮기의 시작입니다.
This is the beginning of becoming like the Lord.
하나님을 닮는다는 건 어려운 신학의 주제가 아닙니다.
To reflect God is not a complex doctrine.
그건 아주 작은 결단에서 시작됩니다.
It begins with a small decision.
한 사람을 향한 태도의 변화에서 시작됩니다.
It starts with a change in our attitude toward one person.
한 청년이 있었습니다.
There was a young man.
그는 교회 친구와 다투고, 몇 달 동안 말을 하지 않았습니다.
He had quarreled with a church friend and hadn’t spoken for months.
예배 때마다 “사랑하라”는 설교를 들었지만,
Every service, he heard sermons about love,
마음 속엔 “그 사람은 용서받을 자격이 없어”라는 생각이 있었습니다.
yet thought, “He doesn’t deserve forgiveness.”
어느 날 말씀 묵상 중,
One day, during his Bible reading,
이 구절이 눈에 들어왔습니다.
these words stood out:
“너희 죄가 주홍 같을지라도 내가 희게 하리라.”
“Though your sins are scarlet, I will make them white.”
그 순간 하나님이 마음속에서 속삭이셨습니다.
At that moment, God whispered to his heart:
“내가 너를 용서한 것처럼, 너도 용서해라.”
“As I have forgiven you, forgive him.”
그 청년은 고민 끝에 짧은 문자 한 통을 보냈습니다.
After much hesitation, he sent a short text:
“그동안 미안했어. 나도 용서할게.”
“I’m sorry for everything. I forgive you too.”
그 한마디로 두 사람의 마음이 풀렸습니다.
With that one message, their hearts were healed.
그날 이후, 그 청년은 처음으로
From that day on, the young man felt,
예배 중에 진짜 평안을 경험했다고 고백했습니다.
for the first time, true peace in worship.
우리의 믿음은 완벽할 때 드러나는 게 아닙니다.
Our faith is not revealed when we are perfect,
사랑으로 회복될 때 드러납니다.
but when it is restored through love.
하나님을 닮는다는 것은
To be like God
그분이 먼저 우리를 용서하신 마음을
is to plant in our hearts
조금씩 심어가는 일입니다.
the heart of forgiveness He first showed us.
미워하던 사람을 위해 기도하기 시작할 때,
When we begin to pray for someone we once resented,
오해했던 사람에게 먼저 다가갈 때,
When we take the first step toward someone we misunderstood,
그 순간 우리는 하나님을 닮아가고 있습니다.
in that moment, we are becoming like God.
혹시 이렇게 느끼신 적 있나요?
Have you ever felt this way?
“나는 너무 부족해서 주님을 닮을 수 없어요.”
“I’m too weak to be like the Lord.”
하나님은 완벽한 사람을 원하시지 않습니다.
God does not seek perfect people.
변하려는 마음 하나를 귀히 여기십니다.
He treasures a single heart that longs to change.
우리가 넘어지고 실수할 때도,
Even when we stumble and fail,
하나님은 말씀하십니다.
God says,
“너는 내 자녀다.”
“You are My child.”
“나는 네가 다시 내 마음을 닮기를 기다린다.”
“I’m waiting for you to reflect My heart again.”
주님을 닮는다는 것은
To be like the Lord
연약함 속에서도 사랑을 포기하지 않는 용기입니다.
is the courage to keep loving even in weakness.
그때 하나님은
In that moment, God
우리의 굳은 마음을 부드럽게 빚으시고,
softens our hardened hearts,
상처 입은 관계를 천천히 회복시키십니다.
and gently restores our broken relationships.
주님 닮기를 힘쓴다는 것은
To strive to be like the Lord
완벽을 향한 노력이 아니라,
is not striving for perfection,
하나님의 사랑과 공의를 마음에 새기는 일입니다.
but engraving His love and justice in our hearts.
우리가 용서하고, 바른 것을 선택하며,
When we forgive, choose what is right,
사랑으로 반응할 때,
and respond in love,
하나님은 우리 안에
God restores within us
자신의 형상을 회복시키십니다.
His own image.
3. 구속 사역에 동참해야 합니다 / We Must Join in God’s Work of Redemption(24–31)
하나님은 심판으로 끝내지 않으십니다.
God does not end with judgment.
주님은 회복과 구속의 하나님이십니다.
He is the God of restoration and redemption.
“내가 다시 너의 손을 들어 찌꺼기를 제거하고,
“I will turn My hand against you,
너의 불순물을 제거하리라.” (25절)
and remove your dross and impurities.” (v.25)
하나님은 자기 백성을 깨끗하게 하셔서
God purifies His people
그들을 다시 공의로운 공동체로 세우십니다.
and rebuilds them as a community of justice.
“내가 네 사사들을 처음과 같이 회복하며, 그 후에 너를 ‘의의 성읍’이라 부르리라.” (26절)
“I will restore your judges as at the beginning, and afterward you will be called the City of Righteousness.” (v.26)
하나님의 구속 사역은
God’s work of redemption
과거의 이야기로 끝나지 않습니다.
is not a story of the past.
오늘 우리 교회를 통해
Through our church today,
하나님은 여전히 그 일을 이루고 계십니다.
God continues His redeeming work.
우리 교회에는 미국인 남편과 한국인 아내로 이루어진
Our church has many couples
믿음의 가정들이 많이 있습니다.
who share faith and life together.
그뿐 아니라, 여러 장년과 노년의 성도님들도
And among us, many of our older brothers and sisters
긴 세월 속에 깊은 신앙의 이야기를 품고 계십니다.
carry beautiful stories of faith through the years.
한 부부가 이런 고백을 나누었습니다.
One couple shared these words.
“우리는 젊을 땐 신앙보다 생활이 바빴습니다.”
“In our younger years, life often came before faith.”
“그런데 은퇴하고 보니,
“But after retirement,
하나님이 주신 시간과 경험이
we realized that the time and experience God gave us
다른 사람들을 세우는 일에 쓰이길 원하신다는 걸 알게 되었어요.”
were meant to bless and build up others.”
이 고백은 한 부부의 이야기이지만,
That confession may have come from one couple,
사실은 우리 모두의 이야기이기도 합니다.
but it speaks for many of us.
하나님은 우리 각자에게 주신 인생의 이야기를
God has given each of us a story of life and faith
다른 사람을 세우는 도구로 사용하기 원하십니다.
and wants to use it to strengthen others.
그래서 이제는 우리 모두가
And so now, each of us can
자신의 신앙 여정을 글로나 말로나 나누어 볼 수 있습니다.
share our own journey of faith — in writing or in words.
그 이야기가 누군가에게
Your story may become
하나님을 다시 바라보게 하는 은혜의 통로가 될 것입니다.
a channel of grace that helps someone look to God again.
하나님은 우리 각자를
God is calling each of us
그분의 구속 사역에 참여시키십니다.
to join in His work of redemption.
그 방법은 거창하지 않습니다.
It doesn’t require something grand.
진솔한 신앙의 고백, 삶의 간증이 바로 도구가 됩니다.
Our honest testimonies become His instruments.

하나님은 말씀하십니다.
God says:
“네가 겪은 모든 시간은 헛되지 않았다.
“None of your years were wasted.
이제 그것을 나의 영광을 위해 사용하라.”
Now use them for My glory.”
하나님의 구속은
God’s redemption
우리의 삶 속에서도 계속되고 있습니다.
continues through our lives today.
우리가 진솔한 간증과 사랑의 나눔으로
When we share our stories and love sincerely,
다음 세대를 세울 때,
and help build the next generation,
우리는 하나님의 구속 사역에 동참하는 것입니다.
we are joining in God’s redeeming work.
구속의 은혜는 단지 용서가 아니라,
Redemption is not only forgiveness,
세상을 회복시키는 하나님의 사랑의 손길입니다.
but God’s loving hand that restores the world.
그 손길에 우리가 함께 서 있습니다.
And we are invited to stand in that hand.
이사야의 시대처럼,
Like in Isaiah’s time,
오늘 우리도 예배의 이름으로 모여 있습니다.
we gather today in the name of worship.
그러나 하나님은 형식보다
But God looks beyond the form—
마음의 예배자를 찾고 계십니다.
He seeks worshipers of the heart.
하나님은 우리에게 말씀하십니다.
God speaks to us:
“너희의 손을 씻고 깨끗하게 하라.”
“Wash your hands and be clean.”
“악을 버리고 선을 배우며,
“Turn from evil, learn to do good,
정의를 구하라.”
and seek justice.”
예배는 노래가 아니라 삶입니다.
Worship is not a song—it is life.
우리가 세상 속에서 사랑으로 행할 때,
When we live out love in the world,
그곳에서 예배는 완성됩니다.
there, worship is complete.
주님을 닮는다는 것은
To be like the Lord
누군가를 용서하고,
is to forgive,
누군가를 세우는 일입니다.
and to lift another up.
그때 하나님의 얼굴이
In those moments, the face of God
우리 안에서 비춥니다.
shines through us.
이제 우리는 하나님의 구속 사역에 동참합니다.
Now we join in God’s redeeming work.
우리의 이야기,
Through our stories,
우리의 사랑,
our love,
우리의 손길을 통해
and our touch,
하나님의 은혜가 흘러갑니다.
His grace flows into the world.
하나님은 오늘도 말씀하십니다.
God still speaks today.
“너희는 나의 백성이라,
“You are My people,
내가 너희 안에서
and through you
세상을 새롭게 하리라.”
I will renew the world.”

하나님 아버지,
Lord, our Heavenly Father,
우리의 예배를 새롭게 하시니 감사합니다.
Thank You for renewing our worship.
형식이 아니라 마음으로 드리게 하시고,
Teach us to worship You not with form, but with heart,
주님의 사랑과 공의를 닮은 삶으로 나아가게 하소서.
and to live a life shaped by Your love and justice.
우리의 손이 닫힌 손이 아니라,
Let our hands no longer be closed,
이웃을 향해 펼쳐진 사랑의 손이 되게 하소서.
but open in love toward others.
이제는 우리의 삶이 예배가 되게 하시고,
Let our lives themselves become worship,
우리의 이야기가 하나님의 구속 사역에 동참하게 하소서.
and our stories become part of Your redeeming work.
