Because of the Lord’s Grace
시편(Psalm) 67:1–7
사랑하는 여러분, 우리 모두는 살아가며 다치지 않으려 애쓰지만, 결국은 상처를 경험하며 살아갑니다.
Beloved friends, we all try our best to go through life without getting hurt, but in the end, we still experience wounds.
예상치 못한 일로 하루아침에 무너지고, 가까운 사람의 말 한마디가 깊은 멍으로 남고, 열심히 노력했지만 결과는 실망뿐일 때도 있습니다.
Sometimes unexpected events break us down overnight, a single word from someone close can leave a deep bruise, and even our best efforts end in disappointment.
그런 시간 앞에서 우리는 때로 믿음을 지키기조차 버거운 마음을 안고 서 있게 됩니다.
In such moments, we often find ourselves barely able to hold on to our faith.
하지만 바로 그런 때, 하나님의 은혜가 얼마나 깊고 실제적인지를 우리는 알게 됩니다.
But it is in those very moments that we come to know how deep and real God’s grace truly is.
오늘 함께 나눌 시편 67편은 잘 나가는 사람들을 위한 찬양이 아니라, 상처를 품고 살아가는 사람들의 가슴에서 흘러나온 기도입니다.
The psalm we will reflect on today—Psalm 67—is not a song for the successful, but a heartfelt prayer flowing from those who carry wounds in their hearts.
하나님의 은혜가 우리 인생과 이 세상에 다시 임하여 회복과 찬양이 일어나기를 간절히 바라는 고백입니다.
It is a confession that longs for God's grace to come again upon our lives and this world, that restoration and praise may rise once more.
오늘 이 말씀을 통해, 우리의 상처 위에 하나님의 공의로운 손길이 어떻게 임하고, 우리의 무너진 자리에서 어떻게 다시 찬양이 시작될 수 있는지를 함께 살펴보려 합니다.
Through this Word, we will discover how God's righteous hand comes upon our wounds, and how praise can begin again in the places where we once fell.
1. 은혜를 기억하는 사람은 복음을 전하지 않을 수 없습니다 (시편 67:1–2)
Those who remember grace cannot help but proclaim the gospel (Psalm 67:1–2)
본문 1절과 2절에서, 시인은 하나님께 은혜와 복을 베풀어 주시기를 간구 드리며, 그 목적이 단지 자기 민족의 유익을 위한 것이 아니라, 주의 구원이 온 땅 위에 알려지고 모든 민족이 하나님을 알게 되기를 바라는 마음을 고백하고 있습니다.
In verses 1 and 2, the psalmist asks God to be gracious and bless His people—not merely for their own benefit, but so that God's salvation may be known throughout the earth and all nations may come to know Him.
1 하나님은 우리에게 은혜를 베푸사 복을 주시고 그의 얼굴 빛을 우리에게 비추사 (셀라)
God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us, Selah
2 주의 도를 땅 위에, 주의 구원을 모든 나라에게 알리소서
that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.
사랑하는 여러분, 시편 67편은 이렇게 시작합니다. “하나님은 우리에게 은혜를 베푸사 복을 주시고 그의 얼굴 빛을 우리에게 비추사…”
Dear friends, Psalm 67 opens with this prayer: “May God be gracious to us and bless us and make His face shine upon us…”
여기서 말하는 '복'은 단순한 물질의 풍요를 의미하지 않습니다. 하나님의 임재, 인도하심, 하나님과의 친밀한 동행을 말합니다. 하나님이 우리를 향해 얼굴을 비추신다는 것 자체가, 이미 은혜이고 복입니다.
This “blessing” is not about material wealth—it’s about God's presence, His guidance, and a close walk with Him. The very fact that God turns His face toward us is, in itself, grace and blessing.
그러나 이 은혜는 나만을 위한 선물로 끝나지 않습니다. 시인은 이어서 이렇게 고백합니다. “주의 도를 땅 위에, 주의 구원을 모든 나라에게 알리소서.”
But this grace is never meant to stop with us. The psalmist immediately continues, “That Your ways may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations.”
하나님께 받은 은혜는 흘러가야 할 생명입니다. 내게 임한 복이, 나를 통해 이웃과 열방을 살리는 도구가 되기를 하나님은 원하십니다.
The grace we receive from God is living and active—it is meant to flow through us. The blessing given to us is intended to bring life to others and be a channel of salvation for the world.
복음 전파는 감격에서 흘러나오는 자발적인 반응입니다
Proclaiming the gospel is a spontaneous response of joy
우리는 좋은 것을 경험하면 주변 사람들에게 말하고 싶어집니다. 좋은 음식점, 유익한 책, 감동적인 영화… 누가 시키지 않아도, 그 기쁨이 너무 커서 입이 열리게 됩니다.
When we experience something good—a great restaurant, a helpful book, or an inspiring movie—we naturally want to tell others. No one has to force us; joy overflows into speech.
복음도 그렇습니다. 하나님의 은혜가 내 삶을 붙들었고, 그 은혜가 나를 일으켜 세웠으며, 지금도 나와 함께하고 있다는 것을 정말로 안다면, 우리는 억지로 복음을 전하려 하지 않아도 됩니다.
The same is true of the gospel. If we truly know that God’s grace has sustained us, lifted us, and is still with us, we don’t need to be forced to share it.
감격이 말하게 하고, 은혜가 삶을 통해 흘러나오게 만듭니다. 복음 전도는 부담스러운 임무가 아니라, 하나님의 사랑을 경험한 자의 기쁨어린 고백입니다.
Gratitude gives us words, and grace flows out through our lives. Evangelism is not a heavy burden; it is a joyful confession of those who have experienced God’s love.
고난은 은혜를 더 깊이 경험하는 자리입니다
Suffering becomes the place where grace is experienced more deeply
병을 겪어본 사람은 건강의 귀함을 압니다. 실패를 경험한 사람은 하나님의 도우심 없이는 살 수 없다는 사실을 더 깊이 체험합니다.
Those who have been ill understand the value of health. Those who have failed learn more deeply that without God’s help, we cannot stand.
우리가 지나온 고난의 자리에는, 우리를 붙들어주신 하나님의 손길이 분명히 있습니다. 그래서 우리는 압니다. 고난은 끝이 아니라, 은혜가 더 선명해지는 통로입니다.
In every valley we've walked through, the hand of God holding us up has been undeniably present. That’s why we come to know: suffering is not the end—it is a passage where grace becomes clearer.
때로 우리는 할 수 있는 게 아무것도 없는 벼랑 끝에 설 때, 비로소 “하나님만이 하실 수 있구나”를 고백하게 됩니다. 그리고 그 자리에 드리는 찬양이야말로, 가장 진실하고, 가장 깊은 고백이 됩니다.
Sometimes, when we stand at the edge with nothing left, that’s when we confess, “Only God can do this.” And the praise that rises from that place becomes the truest and deepest confession of all.
이번에 저는 총회에 참석한 중에 목사님들과 교제하면서, 은혜가 아니고는 설명할 수 없는 한 목사님의 간증을 들었습니다.
At a recent denominational gathering, I heard a testimony from a pastor—one that could only be explained by God’s grace.
그분은 어릴 적 고모의 월북으로 인해 연좌제에 걸려 검사, 판사, 군목의 길이 모두 막혔다고 합니다.
Because his aunt defected to North Korea, he was blacklisted under South Korea’s former guilt-by-association law. Dreams of becoming a judge, prosecutor, or army chaplain were all blocked.
신학교 4년 동안 군목에 계속 지원했지만 매번 떨어졌고, 신학대학원에서도 마찬가지였습니다.
For four years of seminary, he applied repeatedly to become a chaplain but was always rejected. Even in graduate theological studies, nothing changed.
그러다 마지막 기회였던 신대원 3학년, 마침내 연좌제가 폐지되며 군목 시험에 합격하게 됩니다.
In his final year of seminary, the law was finally abolished, and he passed the chaplaincy exam.
하지만 또 하나의 위기가 남아 있었습니다. 군목 발령 전에 입영 통지서가 오면 모든 것이 무효가 되는 상황이었기 때문입니다.
But one more challenge remained—if the military draft notice arrived before his chaplain assignment, all would be lost.
그런데 놀랍게도 입영 통지서는 군목 발령 다음 날자로 도착했다고 합니다. 그것도 딱 하루 차이였다고 합니다. 하나님이 하시는 일은 참으로 신기합니다.
Miraculously, the draft notice arrived dated the day after his appointment. Just one day of difference—God’s work is truly amazing.
우리의 은혜는 고백이 되고, 고백은 복음이 됩니다. 그래서 시편 기자는 말합니다. “주의 도를 땅 위에, 주의 구원을 모든 나라에게 알리소서.” (2절) 이 고백은 사명이기 이전에, 은혜를 기억하는 자의 가장 자연스러운 반응일 것입니다.
Our experience of grace becomes confession, and that confession becomes the gospel. That’s why the psalmist declares, “That your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.” (2) This is not just a duty—it is the natural response of those who remember grace.
혹시 요즘 우리가 복음을 전하고 싶은 마음이 들지 않는다면, 그 이유는 어쩌면 은혜의 감격을 잊고 살아가고 있기 때문은 아닐까요?
If lately we find ourselves with little desire to share the gospel, perhaps we’ve forgotten the wonder of the grace we've received.
사랑하는 여러분, 우리가 오늘도 그 은혜를 기억한다면, 복음은 우리의 말보다 앞서 우리의 삶으로 흘러나올 수 있습니다.
Dear friends, if we remember that grace even today, the gospel will flow out from our lives before it even comes from our mouths.
은혜는 생명입니다. 은혜는 침묵할 수 없고, 결국 복음으로 자라납니다. 그리고 그 복음은, 우리의 삶을 통해 누군가에게 전해질 것입니다.
Grace is life. Grace cannot be silenced, and it grows into the gospel. And that gospel will reach others—through our very lives.
2. 은혜는 우리의 상처 위에 공의의 다스림으로 임하여 찬양을 회복시킵니다 (시편 67:3–5)
Grace comes upon our wounds through God’s righteous rule and restores our praise (Psalm 67:3–5)
3절부터 5절에서 시인은 모든 민족이 하나님을 찬송하게 되기를 간절히 기도합니다.
In verses 3 to 5, the psalmist earnestly prays that all nations would praise God.
그 이유는 하나님께서 민족들을 공평하게 심판하시고, 세상을 정의롭게 다스리시는 분이시기 때문입니다.
This is because God judges the nations with equity and governs the peoples with justice.
그로 인해 백성들이 기뻐하며 노래하게 되고, 하나님의 통치 아래 모든 열방이 참된 기쁨을 누리게 되기를 소망하고 있습니다.
As a result, the psalmist hopes that people everywhere would rejoice and sing for joy under the just reign of God.
3 하나님이여 민족들이 주를 찬송하게 하시며 모든 민족들이 주를 찬송하게 하소서
3May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you.
4 온 백성은 기쁘고 즐겁게 노래할지니 주는 민족들을 공평히 심판하시며 땅 위의 나라들을 다스리실 것임이니이다 (셀라)
4May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples justly and guide the nations of the earth. Selah
5 하나님이여 민족들이 주를 찬송하게 하시며 모든 민족으로 주를 찬송하게 하소서
5May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you.
이 고백은 단지 외교나 정치의 정의만을 말하는 것이 아닙니다. 시인은 하나님께서 세상을, 그리고 우리의 평범한 삶 하나하나를 공평하게 다스리시는 분이심을 고백하고 있습니다.
This is not only a prayer for political justice or international peace. The psalmist is declaring that God rules the whole world—and also our daily personal lives—with righteousness.
하나님은 우리의 인생도 공의롭게 다스리십니다. 살다 보면 억울할 때가 있습니다. 열심히 살았는데 일이 어긋나고, 잘못한 게 없는데 오해받고, 관계가 끊기기도 합니다.
God rules our individual lives with justice. There are times in life when we feel wronged. We work hard, yet things fall apart; we’re misunderstood and relationships break down—even when we did nothing wrong.
그럴 때 우리는 하나님의 공의가 정말 살아 있는지 묻고 싶을 때가 있습니다. 하지만 시편 기자는 우리에게 말합니다. 하나님은 민족만이 아니라, 우리의 하루하루도 공의롭게 다스리시는 분이십니다.
In those moments, we may ask, “Is God’s justice truly at work?” But the psalmist reminds us: God doesn’t just govern nations—He rules over our ordinary, everyday lives with fairness and care.
하나님은 우리의 억울함과 눈물을 모르지 않으십니다. 하나님의 시간 안에서 우리는 반드시 기억되고, 회복되며, 세워집니다. 은혜는 상처 위에 임하는 하나님의 손길입니다
He is not unaware of our pain and injustice. In God’s time, we will be remembered, restored, and raised up. Grace is God's hand that reaches down to our wounds
하나님의 은혜는 성공 위에만 임하는 것이 아닙니다. 상처와 눈물 위에도 은혜는 임합니다.
God’s grace is not limited to moments of success. Grace comes even upon wounds and tears.
직장을 잃고 앞이 보이지 않던 날, 병상에서 고통에 울부짖던 밤, 가장 믿었던 사람에게 상처받고 혼자 남겨졌던 시간에도 하나님은 우리를 외면하지 않으셨습니다.
When we lost our job and couldn’t see the way forward, When we lay in pain, crying out through sleepless nights, When we were wounded by someone we trusted most and left alone, God never turned His face away.
우리의 눈물은 그분의 병에 담겨 있었고, 우리의 억울함은 그분의 심판대 앞에서 결코 잊히지 않았습니다.
Our tears were stored in His bottle, and our injustice was never forgotten before His throne.
하나님의 은혜는 과거의 한 사건이 아닙니다. 지금 이 순간에도 살아서 역사하며, 우리를 만지시는 손길입니다. 은혜는 결국 찬양을 회복시킵니다
God’s grace is not a past event. It is alive and active even now—God’s hand still reaches out to us. Grace ultimately restores our praise
시인은 이렇게 선포합니다: “온 백성은 기쁘고 즐겁게 노래할지니…” (4절)
The psalmist declares: “May the nations be glad and sing for joy…” (v.4)
우리는 왜 찬양합니까? 상황이 좋아졌기 때문이 아닙니다. 하나님의 성품과 공의가 여전히 살아 있음을 신뢰하기 때문입니다. 병이 다 나아서가 아니라, 그 병 속에서도 하나님이 나를 떠나지 않으셨다는 것을 알게 되었기 때문입니다.
Why do we praise? Not because everything has improved. Because we trust that God's character and justice are still at work. Not because the illness is gone, but because we’ve realized that He never left us through the pain.
문제가 다 해결되어서가 아니라, 그 문제 속에서도 하나님의 인도하심을 배워가고 있기 때문입니다. 찬양은 은혜의 열매입니다. 은혜는 결국 찬양으로 이어지게 되어 있습니다.
Not because all problems are solved, but because we’ve begun to see His guidance even in the middle of the struggle. Praise is the fruit of grace. Grace always leads us back to praise.
한 집사님은 오랫동안 찬양대로 섬기며 기쁘게 예배 드리던 분이었습니다. 그러던 중, 갑작스러운 해고와 경제적 어려움이 닥쳐왔고 예배도 멀어지고, 찬양대도 그만두게 되었습니다. 입으로는 “하나님은 선하시다”고 했지만, 마음속에는 낙심과 침묵이 가득했습니다.
A deacon had faithfully served in the choir for many years, joyfully worshiping. Then suddenly, he was laid off, and financial struggles overwhelmed him. He drifted from worship and stopped singing altogether. He said, “God is good,” with his lips, but his heart was full of disappointment and silence.
어느 날 예배에서 시편 13편 말씀이 선포되었습니다. “나는 주의 인자하심을 의지하여 싸오니 내 마음은 주의 구원을 기뻐하리이다.”
One Sunday, Psalm 13 was preached: “But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.”
그날 찬양대가 부른 곡은 “찬양하라 내 영혼아”였습니다. 그분은 눈물 속에 고백했습니다. “나는 지금 상황을 찬양하는 것이 아니라, 상황을 넘어 선하신 하나님을 찬양해야 하는 것이구나.”
The choir sang, “Praise the Lord, O my soul.” Through tears, he confessed: “I don’t praise my circumstances—I praise the God who is good beyond them.”
그 이후, 그분은 다시 찬양대를 섬기며 얼굴엔 전에 없던 평안과 빛이 흐르기 시작했습니다.
From then on, he returned to the choir, and his face shone with a peace he hadn’t known before.
은혜는 상처를 품고 찬양으로 이끄시는 하나님의 길입니다. 하나님의 은혜는 오늘도 우리 삶 속에서 일하고 계십니다. 불공평한 세상 속에서도, 하나님의 공의는 멈추지 않습니다.
Conclusion: Grace embraces our wounds and leads us into praise. God’s grace is still at work in our lives today. Even in an unfair world, God’s justice never stops.
하나님은 억울함을 아시고, 상처를 외면하지 않으시며, 잃어버린 찬양을 다시 우리의 입술에 돌려주십니다.
He knows our injustice, does not ignore our wounds, and returns the lost song to our lips.
그러므로 우리는 오늘 이렇게 고백할 수 있습니다: “하나님이여, 이 민족이 주를 찬송하게 하시고, 이 가정이, 이 교회가, 그리고 이 상처 입은 내 삶이 다시 주를 찬송하게 하소서.”
And so today, we can declare: “May the peoples praise you, O God. May this nation, this family, this church, and this wounded life of mine. rise again to praise you.”
3. 은혜는 삶을 회복시키고 세상을 하나님을 경외하게 합니다 (시편 67:6–7)
Grace Restores Life and Leads the World to Revere God (Psalm 67:6–7)
본문의 마지막 부분에서, 시인은 하나님의 은혜로 인해 땅이 풍성한 열매를 맺게 되었음을 고백하며, 하나님께서 복을 주시는 분이심을 다시 한 번 선포합니다. 그리고 그 복이 머물지 않고 확장되어, 땅의 모든 끝이 하나님을 경외하게 되기를 소망하고 있습니다.
In the final part of the psalm, the psalmist proclaims that the earth has yielded its harvest because of God's grace and once again affirms that God is the giver of blessing. He then longs for that blessing to extend beyond his people, so that all the ends of the earth may come to revere God.
6 땅이 그의 소산을 내어 주었으니 하나님 곧 우리 하나님이 우리에게 복을 주시리로다
6Then the land will yield its harvest, and God, our God, will bless us.
7 하나님이 우리에게 복을 주시리니 땅의 모든 끝이 하나님을 경외하리로다
7God will bless us, and all the ends of the earth will fear him.
하나님의 은혜는 실제 삶의 회복으로 드러납니다. 시편 기자는 땅이 소산을 내었다고 고백하며, 추상적인 신앙이 아닌 구체적인 회복의 은혜를 찬양합니다.
God’s grace is revealed in the restoration of real life. The psalmist praises God not with vague spirituality, but by testifying to concrete blessings—the land has yielded its fruit.
땅이 소산을 낸다는 것은 단순한 농업의 풍년만이 아니라, 삶의 질서가 회복되고 생명이 자라며 기쁨이 열매 맺는 것을 의미합니다.
The yield of the land symbolizes more than agricultural abundance; it points to the restoration of order in life, the growth of life itself, and the fruit of joy.
하나님의 은혜는 관계를 회복시키십니다. 멀어진 사람과 다시 마주 앉게 하시고, 상처와 오해가 머물던 자리에 이해와 용서를 자라게 하십니다. 하나님은 깨어진 마음 사이를 잇고, 지금도 관계를 회복시키는 은혜의 하나님이십니다.
God’s grace restores relationships. He brings people back together who have drifted apart, planting understanding and forgiveness where hurt and misunderstanding once dwelled. God mends broken hearts and continues even now as the God of reconciliation.
하나님의 은혜는 일터에서도 회복을 주십니다. 지친 손에 다시 힘을 주시고, 무너진 자존감 위에 기쁨을 다시 세워주십니다. 실패는 끝이 아니라 새로운 시작이 됩니다.
God’s grace brings restoration even in our workplaces. He strengthens tired hands and rebuilds joy over collapsed self-worth. In His grace, failure becomes not the end but a new beginning.
하나님의 은혜는 마음을 만지시고 고치십니다. 두려움에 무너졌던 심령을 어루만지시고, 불안에 휩싸인 영혼에 조용한 평안을 주십니다.
God’s grace touches and heals the heart. He comforts souls crushed by fear and brings quiet peace to those overwhelmed by anxiety.
하나님의 은혜는 영혼을 다시 살리십니다. 기도가 끊어진 자리에 다시 사모함을 일으키시고, 메말랐던 믿음 위에 감사와 눈물의 기도를 회복시켜 주십니다.
God’s grace revives the soul. He awakens longing where prayer has ceased, and restores tearful, grateful prayer upon faith that had dried out.
하나님의 은혜는 현실 속에서도 분명히 나타납니다. 단지 눈에 보이는 변화가 아니라, 절망 중에 다시 기대하게 하고, 무너진 자리에서 다시 일어서게 하는 은혜의 역사가 있습니다.
God’s grace is made evident in our daily lives. It’s not just visible change—it is the miracle of being able to hope again in despair, and to rise again from a fallen place.
은혜는 결국 세상의 경외로 이어집니다. 시편 기자는 이렇게 선언합니다: "하나님이 우리에게 복을 주시리니 땅의 모든 끝이 하나님을 경외하리로다."
Grace ultimately leads to the fear of God among the nations. The psalmist declares: “May God bless us still, so that all the ends of the earth will fear him.”
은혜는 내 삶의 문제 해결에 머물지 않습니다. 그 은혜를 경험한 우리의 삶은 이웃을 감동시키고, 열방을 움직이며, 하나님을 경외하게 하는 통로가 됩니다.
Grace doesn’t stop with solving my own problems. A life touched by grace becomes a witness to neighbors, moves the hearts of nations, and leads others to revere God.
우리가 절망 중에 소망을 붙들면, 누군가는 그 모습을 보고 용기를 얻습니다. 작은 믿음의 발걸음 하나가 어두운 세상에 빛이 됩니다.
When we hold on to hope in despair, someone else finds courage through our example. Even a small step of faith can become light in a dark world.
우리가 실패 중에도 하나님을 찬양할 수 있다면, 누군가는 그 찬양을 통해 복음을 느끼고 다시 시작할 용기를 얻습니다.
If we can praise God even in failure, someone may see the gospel through our song and find the strength to start again.
우리가 질병이나 고난 중에도 평안을 지킬 수 있다면, 그 평안은 세상이 줄 수 없는 것이기에, 침묵조차 하나님이 살아 계심을 보여주는 증거가 됩니다.
If we can remain at peace through illness or suffering, that peace—something the world cannot give—becomes proof of God’s living presence, even through our silence.
그래서 우리는 믿습니다. 우리가 회복되어 가는 과정이 누군가의 찬양을 이끌어내고, 세상 끝까지 하나님을 경외하게 하는 씨앗이 될 수 있음을.
That is why we believe: the process of our restoration can lead someone else to praise, and even become a seed of reverence for God to the ends of the earth.
우리는 그렇게 살 수 있습니다. 하나님의 은혜가 우리 안에 있기 때문입니다. 한 사람의 회복된 삶은 또 다른 사람의 경외로 이어집니다.
We can live like this—because God’s grace is within us. One restored life becomes the source of reverence in another.
복음은 말로만 전해지지 않습니다. 은혜가 담긴 삶, 변화된 삶이 하나님을 경외하게 하는 선교의 시작입니다.
The gospel is not shared by words alone. A life full of grace and transformed by it becomes the beginning of true mission that brings reverence for God.
한 여성이 있었습니다. 그녀는 남편에게 버림받고, 홀로 자녀를 키우며 경제적, 정서적으로 무너져 있었습니다. 그러나 교회 공동체 안에서 말씀과 기도로 붙들리며 조금씩 회복되어갔습니다.
There was a woman who had been abandoned by her husband and left to raise children alone, broken emotionally and financially. But within the church community, through the Word and prayer, she began to recover little by little.
처음엔 하루를 견디는 것도 힘들었지만, 그분은 하나님 앞에 무릎 꿇는 것을 멈추지 않았습니다. 어느 날, 이웃이 조용히 물었습니다. "당신은 어떻게 여전히 웃을 수 있나요?"
At first, just surviving each day was hard, but she never stopped kneeling before God. One day, a neighbor quietly asked her, “How are you still able to smile?”
